Ignored call from this unknown number. Left no message.

bogus telemarketer

I realize I'm a bit late on this number, but I received a call from it today.  It didn't ring very long and I did not answer.  No message was left.  If a call is legit, I figure they will leave a voice mail.  Otherwise, they are not legit.  As for the response of "Yes" if you are asked if you can hear them, I have read where they will record your response.  When you do end up getting something shipped to you, like a magazine for example, you will be billed for it.  They will end up splicing in your "Yes" response into something that goes like this:"Hi, Sherry.  Would you like a 12-month subscription to Chicken Farmers Monthly for just $12.99 per year?"  Sherry; "Yes."  Naturally your response was if you could hear them, not if you wanted the subscription.  Bottom line: Don't answer calls you don't recognize on your caller ID.  I receive calls from numbers I don't recognize and ignore them.  Often it might be from a doctor's office (from a number other than one I know) wanting me to confirm an appointment, in which case they will leave a voice mail and a number to call back to confirm.

Please cite one reliable news source showing that this has happened.  Not an article that says it might happen.  i bet you can't.

Got a call taking my 10 hour rest break on my work phone. Answered cause I figured it was my company but noooooo . HI this lisa calling ( bougas robocall script ) I hung up cause I wanted to go back to bed. Getting highly tired of this ridiculous nuisance!

Called left no message, tried to call it back says number has been changed. Pure harassment, everyday I get a number from some scan bull crap. Tired of it and this a new phone number for me!!!!!

They called twice today.  No one responds on their end.  Then a dial tone.
