- Caterina McGlynn replies to Yossarian in NCAs a licensed L&H agent of 22 years and just recently having gone through the certification for Medicare programs, I can guarantee that they did not sell your name or number knowingly. If they did so intentionally, the fines and levees are in the thousands of dollars per incident and they would also have their license suspended or revoked. Since at least 2008, it has been a federal violation for agents to even cold call to get leads.
If it makes you feel better, I get at least 5-10 calls per DAY from various scams trying to sell me health and/or Medicare plans. AND I'm on the National Do-Not-Call registry. This is an epidemic and frustrates so many of us. I would love to reach through the phone and slap the company founders of these scams. Most of the employees on the other end have no idea and aren't even insurance agents (which is another matter altogether). So, on behalf of those of us who work with integrity and honor, I'm sincerely apologetic.
I have asked how they got my name and number and it is always some BS line of craigslist (totally laughable) or I was looking at quotes online (not unless they hacked into the highly secure quoting platforms I use for my clients' quotes and THAT would be an altogether other matter, as they just now violated HIPAA regulations and can serve prison time for hacking, in the worst case scenario. - CThe more these cygna aetna health robocalls are blocked, the more they switch to other numbers… if you callback and choose option 2 as they suggest, then they will have confirmed that your phone number is valid, and who knows what can happen because of that. I’ll keep blocking… one by one.

- BeckyI stayed on the line today after about the 100th call in two weeks and pressed 1 to talk to the guy. Asked him to be taken off the call list and he asked why....told him I had about 800 calls from them and he got r-e-a-l-l-y snarky and told me "you must be on our premium call plan and hung up on me"

- jawSame as all the above, with CID starting at HEALTH HOTLINE/(SPAM?) HEALTH HO for many numbers, then going to CITY ST, and even one NOT IN SERVICE. Other numbers I've gotten this from include 312-312-9763, 312-312-9771, 347-282-2805, 423-435-0278, 443-384-0186, 541-204-4295, 586-210-4424, 609-236-7854, 623-499-9004 (twice), 724-246-5598, 727-205-6816, and 781-217-7397. That's a 3/10 overlap with TinPhoenix's list on 623-499-9004.

- Mary replies to Yossarian in NCProbably not... they're scammers who change their robocall message theme all the time: automatic insurance, Medicare and health insurance, other scam themes... the one thing that makes this scammer recognizable, is that they always use 505-210-xxxx. They just change the suffixes, both phished and spoofed numbers. I don't think they check: they just fabricate new suffixes all the time. It actually kind of makes it easier after a while to recognIze the CID and ignore the calls, because they always use 505-210-xxxx.
That doesn't mean someone didn't violate HIPAA... it can and does happen. But this one, I don't think that's what happened to you. It always pays be paranoid about things like our social security/Medicare number. The vultures are out there, circling. This scammer was just fishing for victims.
Tap the blue link below, to see what others say. You're not alone! I forgot to recognize their CID this morning and answered, so they even nailed me! Aargh!
