A caller named Alex San called looking for my bank information stating that he wanted to buy my boat listed in Craigs List.  I asked him why he would transfer money for a boat he never had seen.  He just kept telling me it was what he was looking for and he would transfer the money on Monday.  When told that I would let the banks handle the transfer he stopped texting.

This same number just tried to get me to take a payment for my boat by PayPal. He insisted that was the only way he would pay. When I told him I would accept payment at a bank in person only he still insisted on PayPal. Luckily I Googled his number and this is what came up first. I reported him to the local authorities.

He wanted to buy fireplace on craigslist and said he'd send certified check and have shipping company pick it up. Think it's a scam.

I just got a text from this clown as well !!  good thing I don't trust most things... Thanks for posting this stuff.  He wanted all my info to tell the shipping company he said. I had a jet ski for sale on craigs list...  I'm really starting to hate that place.

this same number  505-428-9582 contacted my brother in law about buying his boat a 10k dollar boat sight unseen and wanted to transfer money asap... really pushed it. I did a quick search and found out this number and "alex" is a fraud....  6/10/2013

Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon practice when placing ads on craigslist. Same scam tactic... I post a no texting statement in ad, and will only respond to an actual call, but, it,s to no avail.. It,s just part of the inconvenience of selling a product in general. One thing for sure. If they are truly interested, they would at least have the courtesy to call.  Another hint is seeing an area code many many miles from the original posting area.Craigslist does post a warning to be leary with wire transfers etc, but, these scammers are going to try to lure you in anyway. Unfortunately many honest people fall for these scam artist tactics...

Received a text from the now infamous 505-428-9582 NM cell wanting to purchase one of my vehicles, site unseen.  Tried to set up a phone call, but the joker on the other end claimed to be deaf and could not arrange for a live conversation.  Although, the person on the other end was insistent that I send my physical address to arrange for shipping of my vehicle to wherever they were.  Yeah right!  This is a classic case of seller beware.

Hey text me about a generator I have for sale and said he would send a transport. After i told him it was a CASH only sale he said hope you have paypal. I told him it is cash and no third party. Either come today or forget it.  Idiot text back "k"

wanted to buy my vehicle off craigslist, says his transport co will pick up car. I have no desire to start paypal account, and he wont talk to me just text messages. looked up number and here i am.  If it sounds to good it probably isnt real.stay alert people.

This guy must be new to the game, he wants my boat said its look like what he wants and will send transport and payment.  Hhaha, what a waste of life this guy has.

2024 - 👋🏻 - This # came up using the Signal app. I always check phone #s. Didn't expect to see this.  He did ask alot about a boat I have. I've not listed the boat.  He never said he wanted to buy it. Best believe, my Spidey senses are on alert.   🦅

Right, so you decided to dredge up a thread that has been dormant since 2013 claiming that the caller is looking for a boat that you don't have and you expect us to believe that?

He's still around, just on Instagram now. I didn't post about a boat, even though at the time, I did have a 6-person [sleeper] Trojan boat that once belonged to LBJ (verified)
. He now is using the "I met an orphan girl in my travels who would not accept his money" and wondered what my opinion about it. I do not trust anyone on the internet so I gave him my opinion. It was send her to places that give charity to those in need OR tell her to apply for grants (which is what I do). I never heard from him again.

The male with this # is now stating he is "Max Thieriot"  of Fire Country (CBS).  It's not. I notified his management team and attorney. Maybe they can do something to stop him from bothering us.
