    Person said that they are with td credit card fraud prevention. And that they wanted my date of birth and she was very persistent. I decided the coverage.

    Called claiming to be with ID Assist through TD Credit Cards offering a paid service to prevent identity theft. Definitely a scam- tries to push the service on you and to accept an email with links to confirm your membership. Will use superficial personal information (name, postal code) easily found online to confirm with you in much the same way that call centers do. Will push for you to accept a welcome email- do not take it. It's almost certainly a phishing scam to try to get more info out of you to actually steal your identity (the thing they claim to be protecting you against). All TD credit card holders already have ID Assist as a fee-free service associated with their credit cards.
