Got another call from this number today saying it is the IRS.  Left voice mail. Same voice as a previous call (from "unknown caller/unknown number) saying to call this number back, although a different number than previously.  Scammers working overtime this season ...

Same as below. They said the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and to call back the number immediately.

Same message.  It was a robo call, fake irs scam.  I didn't answer.

WARNING:  Just got a call from Officer William Smith, Badge #IRM206 saying the IRS had audited my taxes for the years 2008-2012 & had subsequently filed a lawsuit against me. He told me if I didn't resolve this matter right now a federal agent would be at my door to arrest me & that my license would be revoked & all my property would be seized. I was told that I owed $3,986.73. His English was very broken. When he figured out I was on to him he called me a moth** f****** bitc* & told me not to leave my house because someone was coming to get me. Please make your elderly parents & easily intimidated friends aware of this obvious scam. I'm shaking I'm so angry right now.

lawsuit from the IRS.

Same as above.  This is an obvious scam.  The IRS will not contact you by phone but by letter or process server.

I just had a conversation with this number with a man with very broken english making all sorts of threats that If I paid $3986.73 (a number I see in the other reports!) he would close the case against us for misrepresenting our taxes for the years 2008 to 2013.  At first I was believing him but he seemed more and more like a bully.  Older people could fall for this.  He said they mailed us several letters and would not send me another one to look over.  He made all sort of legal jargon claims like in violation of Chapter 13 Section 37, violation of IRS code etc.  along with threats.  I ended up hanging up on him and putting this number in google and came up with similar experiences.  I will file a complaint with my local police dept.

On 3/18/2015 my 85 year old mother received a message on her answering machine from 509-207-4098 claiming she was being sued by the IRS. She also received another call from 239-643-0152 on 3/11.
I just called the number and spoke with a woman with a heavy accent. She asked for my phone number and then my name. She claims I was going to be sued and authorities will be at my door within 24 hours to arrest me. I asked why would the IRS want to sue me. Knowing this was BS, I asked several questions including where she was from because I loved her accent. She said she is from Pakistan. After realizing I gave her a BS phone number and name she then told me she was with the IRS, the Indian Rape Service. She then told me I was going to be arrested for raping indians. I tried to remain serious but of course I couldnt help but laugh. After several other questions showing concern about such an allegation, she then called me an [***]. It definitley gave my coworkers and I a good laugh. Seems whoever this is is targeting elderly folks. The senior center my mother attends gave the members a heads up about these calls.

got an "unknown caller" message from 209-207-4098, left message that I was being sues by the IRS.. to respond immediatly

Thank you for the posts.  I also got this call and a message that goes like this " Hello, we have been trying to reach you.  This call is officially a final message from IRS, Internal Revenue Service.  The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing law suit against you.  To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department 5092074098.  I repreat, 5092074098.  Thank you."

I never called but I hope something could be done for this scam call.

I received a msg..called the number, a man answered..i stated you called me may i help you..he hung up..tried calling back but no answer.  I pray that no one fall for this scam..do not give them any INFORMATION.

Just received same bs call saying it's the last call from the IRS who is supposedly suing me from 509-207-4098. Law enforcement should shut this down yesterday.

How?  The scammers are located in South Asia (India and Pakistan) working out of boiler room call centers and with the apparent approval of Governments who are uncooperative and even hostile to our U.S.  government. It is not within U.S. law enforcement capabilities but a situation that must be addressed by a government to government effort with proper protocol and proprieties......and all with uncooperative governments.   Simple solutions by simple minds.

Dg has a valid point about these calls. The governments in which these calls originate aren't that interested in cooperating with our agencies in order for any type of action to be taken.

Consider the option of a call blocker.

Received a phone message that we will be prosecuted for unpaid taxes  etc.  Called number back 509 207 4098.  It rang and rang no answer.  I knew it was a scam from the get go.  The IRS only sends  letters if there are any delinquencies or  problems.  They do not call you up.
