- LL replies to Roberta CoyI too received the same message. I called the number and there is no official business greeting. I phoned the two IRS branches in Washington, as the area code is WA, and did received a business greeting. Suspicious.
- jvdFolks it is the makings of a scam. This IRS scam being carried out by foreign scammers has become the most popular, money making scam over the past year or so. The IRS does not threaten arrest or sue, nor do they attempt to collect over the phone. Their first/initial contact will always be by USPS mail .
Don't call the number back and if you answer, hang up. - ErikCall stating that we were being sued by the IRS.
Bogus!
IRS communicates through US Postal Service only ! - RickGot the same call this morning. CID said "unknown" but they left a message. Calling the "509" number back, it was evident quick that it was a scam. Be careful!
- not surprisedI just got this call too...number came up as private on caller ID & this was the "IRS" phone left on the voicemail...seriously, like the IRS is going to leave a non-identifiable voice mail...hopefully people aren't fooled...

- Thomas Lee| 2 repliesI just had a very similar experience to what others describe here. To my knowledge I'm not being investigated, audited or sued by the IRS, but about 30 minutes ago I got a call on our family's land-line home phone in which an obviously computer-generated voice stated that I was being sued by the IRS, that this was my final warning, and that I should call 509-207-4646. I don't have Caller ID, so I don't know the actual source number of the call (assuming they hadn't blocked Caller ID). Our number is on the state and federal do-not-call lists, so when we get a call that, like this one, isn't from friends, family, work, or a company we're doing business with, it is usually a scam. The government is aware of IRS impersonation scams like this, and I reported it on websites the IRS, FCC and FTC have set up for reporting it.
- Tam replies to Thomas Lee| 1 replyThey called me at 6am! The area code is from Washington and I live in California.. Obvious scam! Where can I report this number?
- LbmGot the call at 0944 stating it was from the IRS and this was their final attempt to reach me, in regards to a final notice about a lawsuit filed by the IRS. Number to call is 509-207-4646. left message on my voicemail. What a crock. Definitely a robo call.

- TomBig scam. Why is nothing beening done to prosecute the owners of the phone exchange. Wish I could stick a gun though the phone and take 'me out!!!
- Caller: Fake IRS
- Call type: Prank
- JoeMulOn Fri Mar 20, 2015 2:45 PM, we received a call as described by others above "IRS lawsuit last chance etc." This was the callback No. My wife fielded the call and was quite upset. I called the No. but could not understand the responder because he had a heavy accent. After repeated requests to speak more clearly or get someone else on the phone, I understood him to say "ISIS Pakistan". He repeated Pakistan but I'm not sure of the ISIS part. I hung up!
- bluebird janet| 1 replyJust got this threatening call stating I am being sued by the IRS. Very threatening! but I know it's a scam. Shame on these characters.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
