- RichardAnswering machine stated that this was the IRS and it was the last chance to call them because they were filing a lawsuit.
You can tell that it was a machine voice not a real person. Didn't leave a name. The return phone number left was very mechanical. - SatyaGot a sketchy, jerky female-robot call from this number saying the IRS is going to take action against me and to call this number immediately. Total scam... BEWARE! Especially elderly - also - came right after an automated return call from Social Security that I had placed. I think someone is phishing Social Security. Wake up US GOVT!!
- Caller: IRS (so-claimed)

- AngieI got a message left on my voicemail saying it was the IRS and it was my last chance before being sued. At first when I called because I said I did not know my new number that I got four days ago they hung up. I called back and the person I spoke to said his name was Officer Alex Fisher and that they need my lawyer's information to send the lawsuit and that their was going to be a warrant for my address because I committed tax fraud. I hung up after getting his name and the information I needed, when I called back and asked for Officer Alex Fisher the person just hung up the phone and they won't answer the phone anymore. SCAM
- BerndI found a message on my answering machine that the IRS was going to sue me. Figured it was a scam. I called back and got a very heavy accented Spanish voice. I told them it was a scam and that I was reporting it to the state attorney generals office. He called me an "MF" and hung up.

- Bob replies to Mamax4| 1 replyWe got the same call at home. I called the number from my office line. Picked up by a guy who sounded Indian (subcontinent), was evasive, I wouldn't tell him my name or my home number which had been called, at which point he started swearing at me and then he hung up. I'll keep calling him back.

- Seriously annoyed. This number began calling me every 20 minutes this morning. I didn't pick up, and they usually didn't leave a message, but several times they did: a robo voice telling me it was the IRS and they were going to sue me immediately, leaving me the (509)288-4631 number to call back. This is an obvious scam. I turned off my ringer, then went to the "www.irs.gov" page and left a scam complaint there and on the FTC site. I urge everyone else to do the same.
- RichIdentifying party says for I.R.S. (Internal Revenue Service) is suing, to call # back, called back, foreign voice answered (middle eastern sound) asked me for my home #, I refused, then stated "Okay, wait and watch" then hung up.
- Caller: Internal Revenue Service I.R.S
- iwonderSounded distorted and on cell phone with a spotty signal. The message I got told me to dial this number to find out a case against me by IRS. The message it left didn't indicated who it was and to leave a message. I don't know who I am calling so I hung up.

As suggested, I emailed the IRS with 'IRS Phone Scam' in the subject line. - Not interested| 2 repliesGot an automated call from 509-288-4631 saying it was the IRS, this was the final call and that the IRS would be filing a lawsuit against me. Tried to call the number back and it says the person I am trying to reach was unavailable. My phone number has been in service for less than a month. My previous number had been in service for about 20 years and have never gotten a call like this before.

- Mel MGot a call from 509 288 4631 saying the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. The message was from a computer generated voice with sketchie talking. The number was difficult to hear but after listening a few times (I dialed the number) I figured out the right number. I called the number and a foreign man, possibly Indian, answered. Evidently my name showed up on his caller ID because he knew my first name. I ask why was he calling and he told me the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. I ask why had they not send any paperwork to me in the mail. He told me they did but I did not respond. Which I knew that was false because I do not owe anything. He then told me that the police would come arrest me. I told him he was a scammer and this was a scam call. I told him do not call my phone again and that I am reporting this number and this scam. I also told him that I knew the irs would not call me or text me. They would send a letter. I just hope no one falls victim to this scam. Especially older folks or challenged people. Beware!

- sinjin217 replies to Not interested| 1 replyI just moved having had my prior phone number for over two years. I had to change it once I moved, never got a call like that until now. They still have my prior address though. I of course called them back and was given the 'representatives' name, badge number, and a case number that had been submitted for filing but not filed yet. Not even given the opportunity or change to obtain representation, collect information or anything. Was told once my case was filed, a sheriff would show up at my address and serve me papers and arrest me on the spot for tax fraud. I know for a fact that this is not how it works. Still has me nervous and pissed off, and on hold with the IRS right now to check my account to verify what is going on. Will keep you posted if in fact this is a [***] phishing scam.
- Kim S..As everyone else, I heard the same recorded message. They have called here 5 times today! I blocked my outgoing caller ID & called them back. First it was busy (which, the IRS wouldn't be busy), then it didn't ring at ALL, then it rang & rang. So I let it ring probably 30 times when the answering machine finally picked up. It was a woman from India saying that the # I was trying to reach couldn't answer the phone right now & to please leave a message. An IRS number would've given the person's name & that they were with the IRS. So I left a message saying to stop calling (even though they didn't get my # when I called, that's beside the point). I told them that they were reported to the authorities & had been reported by everyone I know. LOL I will call them again & again just to annoy the hell out of them if I find the time. :) Maybe during dinner I'll just hit "redial" a million times.

- Kim S.Just wanted to maybe give a smile to those of you who are repeatedly receiving phone calls from this same number, I set my phone to block my caller ID info, AND set my phone to automatically re-dial the # if it doesn't connect...... I've already pissed them off which is fueling my pleasure even MORE. LOL Just a little revenge for the worst type of scam-caller---telling people the IRS has filed a lawsuit against them.
