Caller left message saying that they are the IRS and are filing a law suit against me.   The IRS NEVER will call and leave a message like this.  This scam has been around for a long time.

Beware this a scam report this to the FCC and Google IRS phone scams  they will tell people they are going to jail and a police warrant out for them and if they don't pay them the cops are will show to my door in 45 minutes these scammers thought I would believe that. The Indian butpy passed the phone to some one acting like a officer read me a badge number and he had common name told me I need to find a money gram while he waits on hold on my cell phone soon I told him I calling the cops he hung up and waited on hold for 45 mins to talk some one live at the IRS and they also said it was scam and if people don't report them they never no.

So glad I googled this number recorded message was left on my answering machine saying it was the IRS filing suit against me and to call the 509 number for the case file.

They just tried this with me also.

Thanks for your comments.  I received a call today from this number. The caller Id listed the number from Haiti so I did not answer. They left a messages stating the same stuff mentioned in the other comments ( IRS, lawsuit, Warrant etc). The person also left me a case number. I am so glad I did not answer. This number is definitely on the REJECT list!

Same here. I arrived home from work to find same message from "IRS" and the "lawsuit" on my answering machine.  I had a brief moment of panic and I Google the number.  Thank God I did.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I received a call on my home phone yesterday stating that a law suit is pending due to me owing the IRS money.  I called these idiots back from my cell phone, they asked if this was the number they called me on and I said yes.  I asked what I owed, They said wait a moment and came back on the line and said I owed $2,500.  I told them they were full of crap and  hung up.

Called the business main line and had the same message. I am the "Google Queen" so I googled the number. I knew it was a scam with in the first few lines of the automated message. It would scare the life out of an elderly person who would never think of it being a scam. Lets shut them down folks.

Got a call this morning in NJ from this number. The message they left was the same as previous posts, about an IRS law suit. Caller ID:Othello WA

Automatic message said "they" were trying to reach me; it was their final notice... The IRS was filing suit. Call them (they give the same number they call in on) to get the case number.

Just got hit and of course based on the message they left, I immediately added the number to my reject list....

Looking at the call ID from Haiti,I'm glad I didn't pick up deliberately. My question is why cant the authorities do anything about this fraudulent activity (Scam)?

Automated message saying IRS is filing a lawsuit. Asks to callback for case number. This is a scam. Trying to get personal information. Report to the feds ASAP to try to shut these guys down!!

Someone claiming to be the IRS called to tell me about $4,000 I owe to since 2008
