Our foreign 3rd world scammers also think:
(1) Your Social security number can be put on hold (whatever that means)
(2) Paying money will make a criminal offense go away. (Must be an Asian thing)
(3) You're guilty first, then you go to court & are further guilty. (Yeah, let's go with the Asian thing)
(4) Being yelled at, threatened, sworn at will make you pay them money. (I guess they're going with "If at first you don't succeed. . . ")

Indian accent guy called and said I was being sued by IRs.

Received a similar voicemail from a robocaller:

You've got a new voicemail from (509) 346-6059.Transcript: Internal Revenue service the reason of this call is to inform you that I rs is filing lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on 509-346-6059. I repeat 509-346-6059. Thank you.

IRS is trying to reach me about a law suit.

509 346 6059 (Mike Wilson) with a Indian Accent call me  and ask me for money; saying that i the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. I told him that I had not received any mail from the IRS stating that I owed the IRS $ 3,486 dollars This person Almost get me but what got me thinking is that he say that I can not speak to anyone about this matter.i check the computer for scam and found the number jajajajajajaja

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

IRS Scam call

Sheriff will be coming to arrest me in two hours if I don't pay the IRS.  Interesting that these are Indian scammers but the call-back number is in Washington state?  I know they can spoof the caller ID number but apparently they can relay a call to a U.S. number to an overseas scammer den?

They may have switched phone numbers now.  I got the same type of call today 10/7/15 at around 11:00am CST from I believe 509-346-6062 (I don't have caller ID).  They said in an automated message left on my phone that they were the IRS and that there was a lawsuit against me and I needed to call them back at 509-346-6062.  They repeated the phone number twice to make sure I got it right.  [***]!

Same - they're still trying as of today to get call backs for this scam.

I just received the same robo call on my cell Eric and even though I know it is a scam, I called the number. A fellow with an Indian accent answered, "This is the IRS" and I said "Oh [***]! This is a scam and you are not fooling anyone..........well as I kept talking I realized that he must have hung up right after I said "Oh [***]"........:) I can not believe that people actually fall for this, but I know they do.

I just received the same call and was reluctant to answer because my caller ID said Haiti with the same 509 area code.  I listened to the VM and heard the same "IRS" threatening message.  Curiously I called  and the indian accent was a reg flag,just saying, he asked for  my name and home address put me on hold and then said a law suit was being filed against me but that "the suit has not started."  He said I owed $4,900 and if I had the money to pay now?  I said no he put my on hold and I hung up, I figure I call the IRS myself.  A minute after hanging up I receive a call from 202-589-4589 and the called ID said Afghanistan!  I did not answer!   These people are out of control and need to be stopped.

Just got the same spiel.  LOL.  The IRS doesn't sue.  Dumb-[***].  Came on line to check the number - and sure enough...

Got the same message 3 times today. Called him back gave him a piece of my mind and block him
