Received call from this number. Called them it was about a loan. Was told I would have to pay a processing fee before I could get the loan. Told them I didn't want the loan. Sounds like it might be illegal / scam.

Just got a call from this number.  Usually don't answer numbers I don't know but was expecting a call from someone so I answered it.  Was a lady with an Indian accent saying that she was calling regarding a problem that Microsoft reported from my computer and she wanted me to go to my computer, but I hung up before she could tell me what to do next.  I assume she was going to want me to allow her to dial into my computer.  Not going to happen.

Thank you! I just got the same call today from 202-222-2222 and was asked to call back 509-588-7215. When I did, they answered "US Treasury Department" and said all sorts of official sounding things about the Federal Reserve. To receive this "grant" for $9000, they wanted $230 as a security deposit before the NY Fed could release the funds to Western Union (given as an option after I did not want to have it directly deposited into by bank account).
I asked for a letter or email about this so I would have more information and the woman said she did not want to force me, to call back when I decided, and then hung up. Such a bummer!

I too got a message saying I got a grant for 9000 then when I call the 509 number it's me strange that the lady kept answering "I see " then she said The treasury department number was busy and that I should call again. So weird

I am turning it over to my local police dept. As a bachelors student of Legal studies it sounded like a scam from the get go. What government agency asks for a security deposit to begin with. NONE. It was pretty much the same. 202-222-2222 then a confirmation number. $270 security deposit with the same 509-588-7215 number to call. Can barely understand the accent, and when called out on the scam deal-o they send you to the ARRA2009 website. What killed me the most is they wanted me to go to a local gas station for the Western Union thing, but I used to work at that same gas station and I know for a fact the gas station cannot give out more than $499 in a lottery ticket let a lone they do not even make $9000 in one day at that location. How are they supposed to give you the $$$ if they doo not have it. Hell my Lot rent is $295 a month and I can barely make that without child support. So your going to take from an unemployed single mom who barely makes the bills as it is. Really?
