- KristinSaid that it was a final notice (haven't seen this number pop up before) and that the IRS has a lawsuit against me. Directs to call the number.
- Adam| 2 repliesReceived the same call: claiming there was a law suit against me from the IRS. Tried to contact the IRS through normal channels listed on IRS.gov to no avail; but, I did find an article worth reading.

- Caller: Name Unavailable
- Ivy replies to AdamThanks for your post. I got the same call and found out the phone call originated from a cell # from Benton, Washington. I visited the IRS link you posted and filed a complaint against the above number.
- JessicaSomething about a case being brought against me. They leave a message but only half of it is saved so not much to really go on. They're pretty persistent though; I've gotten calls from them a couple times today.
- ErinI received a voice message on the land line. I called back to speak to a person that had an Indian accent, he said that his name was Roy Jacob. He explained that the IRS is filling a law suit against me. He explained that the phone conversation was being recorded so I should refrain from getting upset and raising my voice, that these outburst could go against me in the court action.
I called him sir and he explained that I should not do so as I am a senior citizen and I should not call a man that is 32 years old sir. I tried to excuse my self for being polite and all of a sudden the line went dead.
Got to say this really bothered me at first. Now I'm just relieved it fits the profile of a scammer...- Caller: IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- Gina Chaney replies to CarrieI have been called 3 times today from 509-588-7350. A recording was left on my answering machine saying that the IRS has a lawsuit against me and to call them back for more information. I didn't call because I know the IRS doesn't contact people by phone, but only by mail. I don't plan on answering it ever.
- Gina ChaneyI received 3 calls/messages on my home phone saying the IRS has a lawsuit against me. It says to call them at 509-588-7350 to get more information about the "lawsuit". I know this is a scam because the IRS doesn't contact people by phone.
- Caller: Unavailable posing as IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- LindaI also received the same phone message twice today. I didn't call them back either as there has been a number of news stories warning that the IRS does not contact you by phone.
- JamesReceived a recored msg indicating it was the IRS, and it was initiating a lawsuit against me although they never stated my name. This call smells just like the thousands/millions of other scams that are out there waiting to prey on innocent victims.
- Caller: IRS (allegedly)
- KristieMy mother-in-law got the same call twice I told her not to call them back as it was probably a scam. She was upset as she should be. So I called and ask the guy on the phone what this was about and when he found out that I was not the person he called he hung up. So that made me mad so I called back to ask him to not to call back he hung up on me once again so I called back and once again he hung up on me so know he has blocked my #.
- Caller: Irs (supposedly)
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Karla| 1 replyI came home today with 2 messages on my answering machine saying there was a lawsuit against me. I have had the IRS call me on me two separate occasions. Both times they were polite and stated their names and mine and gave me a legitimate number to call. This recording today was clearly, clearly a scam.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - WaystohavefunwithidiotcallersThank you for your posts everyone, I got the same call today. I am pasting a couple of very important paragraphs from the sites linked in previous posts, remember, the IRS will NOT ask you for money over the phone. EVER!
"There are clear warning signs about these scams, which continue at high levels throughout the nation,” said IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. “Taxpayers should remember their first contact with the IRS will not be a call from out of the blue, but through official correspondence sent through the mail. A big red flag for these scams are angry, threatening calls from people who say they are from the IRS and urging immediate payment. This is not how we operate. People should hang up immediately and contact TIGTA or the IRS.”
Additionally, it is important for taxpayers to know that the IRS:
•Never asks for credit card, debit card or prepaid card information over the telephone.
•Never insists that taxpayers use a specific payment method to pay tax obligations
•Never requests immediate payment over the telephone and will not take enforcement action immediately following a phone conversation. Taxpayers usually receive prior notification of IRS enforcement action involving IRS tax liens or levies.

- GaleHave had 3 calls from this number on my landline--very cryptic--just a phone number--509-588-7350--to call I called once on cell phone--line was busy. Called once on my land line. Person answering had a heavy accent--hard to understand--lots of background noise of voices with foreign accents Asked where he was calling from--he said IRS in Washington, DC. Asked who he was looking for. Said he was looking for my son [who has not lived with me for 30 years and now lives in Europe]. I said he was not here. He then asked for my name. Asked why. No answer. Repeated several times. Finally I told him he was phony and hung up.
