I received a call from this number.  I answered it and after a few seconds the call was disconnected.

510-556-5170 calls, then nothing and disconnects after a few seconds. The other no with this was V70710231700496 which indicates a possible international origin.

This occurs a lot and is disturbing.  With a military family member out of the country, we can not take a chance that a call is  not from them.  Their numbers are routed differently.

I just received another call from this number . . . I dialed back after a few minutes . . . and got a recording . . . "if you are not interested in receiving calls about our promotions . . . " -- I hung up.  I don't follow these instructions, as that only indicates that my number is legitimate . . . I am blocking this number on my phone . . .

Selling security systems

I experienced the same thing everyone else has reported.  I answer and after a few seconds the line drops.  Now I'm wondering if it's someone out there trolling for vallid phone numbers that they are selling to other scammers.........

Of course there are.  Those sewer rats know how to turn a buck.

Or possibly they are using a computer to dial all the phone numbers in a given area code, something commonly done by criminals whether they be debt collectors, IRS or other Federal Agent imposters, or telemarketers.  If your area code was xxx, and your exchange was zzz, and if you set the computer to dial every number from xxx-zzz-0000 to xxx-zzz-9999 do you think your phone number would be in that group?  Of course it would, and they try multiple times per day, week, and month, whatever to maximize the chance that they will get to talk to someone in order to steal money from you.  The reason it hangs up on you is because there are not enough criminals available to talk to you.  In other words, someone picked up just a little quicker than you did and is getting scammed when you answer the phone.

This number just called. I picked up and made no sound. Nothing on the other end, which sounds like a robocall. I hit the BLOCK NOW button and hung up. They cannot call me back on this number, which I'm sure is spoofed.

Just called. I called back after a few minutes and got a recording."if you are not interested in receiving calls about our promotions" -- I hung up.   BLOCKED

Same, no answer, blocked. I'm done!

Calls every day, no msg, I do not pick up, not sure if my phone has blocking feature.

I have got 12 calls from these people in the last 2 months.  There'll be different phone nos displayed, but if anyone is still on the line they start reading their copy of "Our representatives will be in you area and will install a free security system ..... etc."   I have got to where I'll say to them "What is my area?".  They will stumble and stammer around and some of them will want to put me in touch with an 2nd party on their end, such as a sales engineer.  That's when I go off on them and say "You said you were going to be in my area,  now you tell me what my area is!!"  Without exception, that's the point when they hang up on me.

Calls every day.  Will not leave a message.

When I answered, caller was not there.  I am now starting to keep track of all my unwanted calls.

Received several calls from this number.  Caller ID says "Alarm Co".  They never leave a message.

received call, said Alarm Co.=answered to get them to quit calling here but it was dead air then they hung up.

calls several times a day for about one week, never leaves a message.  the class stop for about 4-6 weeks and the pattern repeats.

Called twice yesterday morning and twice again this morning.
