Received a message from 510-682-2651 stating that I owe the US Treasury money and that I will need to pay them, if I fail to respond there will be a grand jury investigation.

This is absolutely FRAUD!

Called us twice.  Used the name Robert Matthews or Mathis....strong accent.  Demanded 4850 dollars or my wife would be arrested.  I called back and a woman answered. Said she was with the U.S. Treasury.  Wouldn't talk to me unless I have her my phone number.  They call themselves paralegals.  Total crock.  Hang up on them.  They don't know how the U.S. works.  IRS doesn't threaten with arrest for missing a tax payment.  [***]!

Someone with a very heavy accent said I had to call them back or would have to appear before a judge.

I received the same call from Steve Martin with an Indian accent. Claimed to be with US Treasury.

Had three messages in the same day left on our answering machine from a gentleman with an Indian accent named Steve Martin. Said he wants to help us avoid going before a magistrate judge for money owed to the IRS.

We too got a call from this Steve Martin stating from US Treasury and to call back to help them help us.  Also said something to the effect of seat of contention and Grand Jury.  It is on my machine and I am keeping it there for now for proof.

(510) 682-2651 Steve Martin called again with his scam. I love that he can't even form a freakin' sentence: "This message is intended to contact you blah blah blah." I reported him to the FBI last week but they won't do anything about it.

We got the same message exactly as other people mentioned in this website. It's really irritating. We hope our government can come up with some thing to stop them from making these threatening calls.

Love your idea. I've messed with scammers to the point they get mad and hang up on me.  It IS fun but takes a lot of time.
