Weird call. It was a female claiming to be from the TWC, trying to verify dob or last 4 of ssn or my address. Claiming if I was approved I’d get back pay. This call took place on a Saturday morning. Since when does TWC volunteer to give you money on a Saturday morning?

Received a call from +1 (512) 707-3102 claiming to be TWC Fraud Dept.  Wanting to verify personal info to verify ID ME on a claim filed two years ago.  I asked for a number to call them back and they provided the same number they called from.  I requested they send a letter and she said they would call me on Tuesday.  You’ll be blocked by then lady!  Scam!!!!

I received a call from this phone number claiming to be from Texas Workforce commission following up on a fraudulent claim.

Left voicemail message Thursday at 4:45pm she was contracted by TWC for unemployment fraud and encouraged to file with FTC/IRS for fraud. Left no phone or what else to do. May be fraud.

How would it be fraud if they told someone to file with the FTC and the IRS?
