They say they are from the Vehicle Protection Department. If you ask for any explanation, they hang up, When I ask to be removed from the list, they have muttered some swear words, said no and then hung up

Called then wouldn't say anything. Either a robot or a scammer - either way, ta ta, you bozo.

I asked if they were the company that I had my vehicle extended coverage with, and he kept saying he was from Honda. I said to answer my question. He said he is answering question for 3rd time. I said send me info in mail. He said he wasn't sending anything, and to get off my phone in nasty tone.

some sort of warranty / vehicle protection..... when I ask which car they are calling about they reply that information is not available to them.... so I just lay the phone down and walk away... eventually they hang up.... I've gotten so many of these calls they are getting comical... think I'll forward the next call to the local police department and let them have a go at it....

They've called me twice in the last 3 days. I let it go to voicemail, and they left no message.

Social interaction scam by mentally challenged. Their parents abandoned them because they were too ugly to even get the family dog to play with them, even if they tied a pork chop around their necks. It is unfortunate for them that they are as incredibly ugly as they are so they have to cover their heinous visage by over the phone contact to have some social interaction.

Called at 5:15 pm 4/15/16. Surprisingly enough, I think I scared him into being a nice scam artist- he politely asked me if I still owned a 2014 Chevy Silverado (no, and I haven't), but I paused and asked him what the call was for and he said it was for my vehicle warranty. It was expired and he was with my local (the number was not local to me) dealership and wanted to know if I still owned the vehicle. He said they had a great deal on warranty coverage. I told him he had the wrong number. He politely apologized and said "I'm sure we do, have a great day". I have to be honest, most scammers scream or hang up. At least he was new and polite.

Bottom line, it is a scam- not worth answering.

If everybody would stop answering the phone and talking to these scammers they would eventually give up and stop bothering everybody.

My calls come from 830-256-9066 (I'm sure a "virtual (local) number service" - Texas Hill Country). Vehicle Protection Department claims to sell extended warranty coverage after your original coverage terminates. Their website (vehicleprotectiondepartment.net) lists 2961 W. MacArthur Blvd., Santa Ana, Ca 92704 and (800) 949-8255. On the call, the 2nd person, the closer, Germaine Carter, did call me back and told me they're located in California. He says they're the policy holders of the warranty services auto companies use (Hyundai, GM, Chrysler, Porche, Bentley). I'm going to check at my local Hyundai dealership. He offered a Platinum coverage for 4 years/100,000 miles with a $100 deductible at the time of service. Plans vary, time payments were offered for 14 months after 11% down or 18 months with 7% down. After applying a "loyalty incentive" discount of $1000 the plan was offered for $2600. If you agree, they can email you the pdf version of the policy they'll send by certified mail. Their services seem to be administered by Marathon Group. I found online a company's wesite that also offers vehicle protection plans through Marathon Group (American Automotive Services Solutions).

Calls several times a day relentlessly. Scammer.
