Hung up when answering machine picked up

Just called.  Didn't say anything when I answered, so I hung up on them.

This number just called. It rang twice and then they hung up. Annoying!

Yet another fake 'Texas' number, I've had nearly two dozen different ones in the last 6 months. I will add it to my blocked list, but I know it's fake simply because only 3 people know I have this number, and as I live in VT it's 99% unlikely it's someone calling the previous owner. I wish there was a way on my phone to stop all the calls for Texas, but it only blocks specific numbers.

Said it was Joe Collins calling for the Fraternal Order of Police.....don't donate to calls like
this and hung up. The REAL organizations do not use these fund raising methods any longer.

Calls every so often, lets it ring a LONG time.  I generally click ON, then hit MUTE and just let the phone sit there for a bit till it their bot disconnects the call.  This has worked at getting a lot of unwanted calls stopped.

Was expecting a call so answered.  I hung up and I really think it is not a person but a robot.  Fraternal order of police with yet another number that I have to block.  Just google and find out how bad this is.  Another number that I have labeled spam police in my phone address book.  It is non profit because they give no money hardly.

ROBO CALLS: There are 800 area codes with 9,999,999 numbers. Since Robots call every number in succession, they don't need to buy lists from anyone. The FTC receives 250,000 to 300,000 complaints per month, with robocalls responsible for around 60% of those complaints.

TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HOME PHONE: block, use call forward selective, or save calls to a phone address book as spam with a description (spam medical, spam alert, spam microsoft), and continue using this great site for information. MY HOME PHONE (Panasonic Link2Cell Bluetooth® KX-TGH263B LCD/2 Handsets) BLOCKS 250 NUMBERS AND THE ADDRESS BOOK HOLDS 3,000 numbers and the phone talks to you and says spam from across the room (like if you are up on a ladder or disabled).

TELEMARKETING:  (and I quote) "The Center for Investigative Reporting joined two news organizations in an investigation of groups that use telemarketers to raise money and found that most of the money is paid to telemarketers, leaving the charities with little, if anything. (3% in some cases)

Not only that but reputable charitable organizations don't solicit donations by phone.
