- phoenixThese people called me, and asked for me by name. My new, married name. The woman on the other end of the line demanded my date of birth, mailing address and the last four digits of my SSN. When I told her I wouldn't give her that information because I don't know who she was, she got all huffy with me, sarcastically wished me a good day, and hung up. If these people are debt collectors, they should know better than to behave this way. Only an idiot would give out that kind of information without finding out who they're giving it to first, and why! Don't trust them!

- RPI hate to say it but, these people did get it somewhat right this time. They called my number, ask for me and stated who there were attempting to collect for and why, a medical bill. Sorry, no money here. The one thing they did do, which was inaproprate, was, asked for my DOB, of which the answer was "NO. I will not give that to you....send me a letter making the request.....click..

- edW A R N I N G ID theft. They have no information about you at hand, just phone numbers with a name connected. They try to trick you into providing SS# and BOD or address by saying that they need to verify your identity. Like I said...they have no information they could verify your ID in the first place. The moment you tell them what they need you will be one sorry SOB. Do not give them any information or address. If they are legit they would have your address already and other information with that. Yust tell them to send the files or the proof to the address they got at hand then hang up. Don't be fooled W A R N I N G

- PaulaCalled my office asking for an employee. I took a message for the employee and wrote down the # off the caller id, but they gave me a toll-free number for my employee to call. When we called the toll-free number it was a recording for a 900 sex line. The original caller said she was from Financial Corporation of America, but only after I asked.

- Mary Lou replies to GeneAsked for me by part of my name and when I said my name, they got confused, then wanted to verify me to verify I was who I said I was. I told him he called me. He needed to tell me what he had & I would tell him if he was correct. He said no, and that I had to tell him first. I told him that I don't give out personal info over the phone in this day & age of identity theft, and would be more than happy to verify what he had. He said "Nope, and then I guess we are done." I said guess so, and hung up. To my knowledge I don't have anything hanging out there and if he has something, they should be willing to work with you regarding verification of your info. Too many scams out there to expect someone to pony up that info over the phone when they call out of the blue, and aren't even clear about who they are, and what their motive is for calling.
- Lisa| 3 repliesI recieved a call from this number and they asked for me. I acknowledged myself and they then ask for "security purposes" to give them my address, date of birth, and social security. I told them that I needed to know who they were and what this was regarding before I gave out such personal info. The caller then told me she could not do that and hung up. I know for a fact that this is a medical collections group. I do have outstanding med bills and if they had given me some info I would have been more than willing to work with them-I do not give my SS# to just anyone. I thought they had to announce that they were caling to collect on a debt.
