Oh this is too cute.

So the number pops up on my CID as Blackstone, VA with a 434 area code.  It's the same area code our company is located.  I already know its a bad idea to answer but we are a business, I have to answer it.

I'm pretty much the impenetrable door when I answer the phone.  I refuse to repeat our business name once I hear someone ask for my boss by his formal name or when I hear tell tale signs of call center background.  I've been the junkyard dog of the phone lines wherever I have worked.  Just because telemarketers are nuisances.

I tell the woman that my boss is unavailable and ask that she leave a message....  When she leaves her contact info, she gives me this 512-730-4431.  Definitely not VA.  

Pretending to be from this area is shady practice.. It is how they work around the CID thing, to pose as someone from your area, making you think its legit.
