    This is a My Cash Now scam.  They claim to be Central Mediation Services of Houston, TX.  The number is from Austin.  They'll give you a fake address at an office building.  I called the office management at the building and they confirmed they have no tenant by that name.  They'll call your employer, threatening arrest and show complete disregard of the FDCPA.  This is an operation of 3 people, because at any time, only 3 people will answer the phone.  Don't waste your time because they're rude, and won't listen to a word you say.  Once they realized you won't fall for the scam, they'll stop calling or call pretending to be another company with another fake address.

    This guy Ricky Williams threatened me with a $3700 cash bond and a felony warrent for my arrest. He had my social security number and banking info. Which has been changed and I now participate with a credit fraud company. I had my bank go back and everything he said was a lie. He gave an address of 3000 Richmond ave Houston Texas.

    This man called threatening me with 3 felony charges on a check loan. He said they didn't send correspondence because it's not their job to locate me and send me any information just to inform me that there are charges being filed. He said I could pay the balance by paying with my debit card, cashiers check or cash. He refused to tell me anything about the actual debt and went on to tell me where I used to live years ago and the last 4 of my social security number. I hung up and refused to give him any money. The number comes back to Level3 VoIP in Austin, TX. There is no information on a legitimate mediation company. These people are breaking FDCP rules and using intimidation as a way to scam money out of you. I am nobody's fool.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    •Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    They just called me today and threatened my freedom.  They said I would be charged w/like 3 charges. Refused to send me anything in the mail. A young lady by the name of Jessica kept hanging up on me, she's actually the one that made the threats. Then a guy named Justin Thomas answered and wanted me to pay $200.00 to stop the paper work from going to the state. Basically whatever is being said in the previous comments is the same being said to me. It's funny how you can't find any factual information on this company.  Their fraud don't trust it!

Central Mediation Services does not come up has a legit business.  3000 Richmond address comes under something completely different.
