- Answer It| 2 repliesThey are indeed debt collectors for federal student loans, but it's the best call I ever got. Under the new law, they were able to bring my monthly payments for my Parent Plus loan down to $5 a month. After 9 months, it comes out of collection and is considered rehabbed. Answer your phone. Student loans do not go away.
- TheodoreI was getting all kinds of calls from these bozos at all times of the day AND night. They are a bogus outfit I managed to find the person they are looking for. Two reasons, the first is it seems he has been dead since 1974. The second is that the area code, they're calling, didn't exist until 21 years after the person's death and the prefix was not added to this area code for another 9 years. However, I managed to find the person's name and SS# in the SS Death Index on Ancestry<dot>com. So I did them a favor. I took all the information and contact information, printed it on a 5x7 card, laminated the card, attached it to a stake, then I placed it at the person's headstone. I took a picture of it sent to all the TV stations and newspapers in that local area. The calls stopped a day before the story hit the Associated Press. I did exactly what they asked me do, I delivered the message.
My calls always came from: (513)234-3395 or (513)234-3429- Caller: Account Control Technologies
- Call type: Debt collector
- BigA replies to Answer ItYour post does not seem to follow the actual rules as posted on the DOE web site regarding defaulted loans. https://studentaid.ed.gov/repay-loans/default But in any case, you are probably accruing interest and they will no doubt get their 17.5% commission as per their contract: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sites/default/files ... aseContract.pdf
I would sincerely doubt that they would lower a payment down to $5.00 a month in any case. - wvWatch out for any calls from them.
- M. Washington replies to jrHi, anonymous writer. You work for them, don't you?
- PatriciaSome joker from this company called looking for my husband. This is my cell, and a new number. My husband has his own. Moron told me he would love to talk to me, but could only talk to my husband. Told him to coke on it and blocked the number

- Duh replies to J. C.The do not call list is for telemarketers, not collectors. They have every right to call and attempt to collect what you no we them, various state laws applying, of course.
- Andorah replies to Answer ItHave they "mistakenly" not taken that or any monthly payment yet?
- QuelCall all times during the day trying to get a payment for student loans that I already pay $140 a month for. So I don't understand what they are trying to collect. They are rude and disrespectful. They won't let up even though I referenced them to call the US Dept Ed...

- No nameMan called and asked to speak with a first name only; he didn't identify himself until I asked who he was."Matthew" if that was even his real name. He gave only his first name. I again asked where are you calling from in regards to what...again would not verify anything until I have him my info. I'm today's society, why would anyone give information over the phone...he was very rude and said he'd terminate the phone since I wouldn't give him information over the phone. I informed him he was being rude and to send whatever he was calling about to the address they have on file then...
Totally rude! Should be against the law to harass people when they are just trying to protect themselves from possible fraud!- Caller: ACT

- takregyTA woman with a very soft sounding voice kept asking if I was so-n-so, each time I asked how can I help you. This went on 3 times of us both saying the same thing. She finally mumbled something and hungup on me. I did notice it was ACT in the call ID
