This caller said I'm charged and to transfer to an investigator

Spam caller about a pending pre-trial intervention company.

This # left a message saying either myself or attorney need to call back before end of day or I would be waving my rights. Never said who the call was for or who they were and what it was about other then they had a case

called and said i have a pending case and warrant for my arrest due to not paying a cash loan,... beware fraud

1) people are NOT notified that they will be served an arrest warrant.
2) Ordinary debt is NOT an arrestable offense.
3) A telephone call is NOT sufficient proof of debt.

Strongly suggest you google FDCPA!

Also all legal action would be notified by mail WITH detail. And a reputable company will say who is calling instead of a generic "pre-trial resolution firm"   I'm getting these calls too and it may have been believable (actually the 1st one I ever got was as they had case numbers and so on) however when they call from multiple number in various states with the exact same message or voice they are totally not legit.  Also I have never taken out a payday or cash loan and as this is an Ohio number and I have spent all of 24 hours in southern ohio in my entire life.  Yep Scam.  If you are ever in doubt (and they are claiming legal charges filed) you can check with your local law enforcement agency and they can check to see if legal charges have been filed against you anywhere in the country.  You can also check with a consumer rights lawyer, and of course google the number.  t's highly doubtful that anything legitimate would be reported by multiple people.

This company first called my in-laws and said I had a warrent out on me due to a payday-loan, when I called the # back was told I would be picked up and arrested.  If I didn't pay the amount supposed to be owed they would have me do 130 days in jail.  When I asked what court was issuing the warrent they said they didn't know that I should contact my local court house... Last time I heard if someone has a warrent out on you they will know the state, city and county of the courthouse issuing the arrest.  They could not answer any of this then started getting attitude because I wouldn't give them any kind of payment. Why would I pay something for something I don't owe. I mean like REALLY !!!!!!

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

they called me at work and said they are putting two felony warrants out on me if I didn't pay them like $1200,they said I had gotten a payday loan from a online advance LLC, and that I never paid them back. I never, never have done anything like this NEVER. I didn't know what to do I was fixing to pay them and could not figure out what way going on. I looked up the phone number they were calling from and it said FRAUD, SCAM. Even the lady who gave me her name is mentioned in the reports as a SCAM/FRAUD, her name is Kelly Anderson phone number 1-513-258-0625 ext 405. I told her I am not going to pay you anything because this is a SCAM and she said, well we will turn you in to the police and a warrant will be issued for your arrest. I said go ahead, I am going to call the police myself. Pisses me off that this is still happening today to people.

Yes, it's a scam.  Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you CANNOT be arrested for it.  Typical debt scammer. Trying to scare money out of p;eople with a lot of meaningless legal mumbo-jumbo.

Pay attention to Slim. Read the other notes. Nothing is going to happen.  These callers are bsiclly exotrintoinst trying to scare money out of people. Being in civil debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it.  How many times do I have to repeat that simple rule?  We do not have debtors prisons in the US and haven't since about the 1830s.

They called and left message saying she was going to wave over my rights if I didnt contact her and to govern my self accordingly. The second time called and said I could go to jail for 2 felonies and do mandatory 120 days in jail for a car loan via the internet. Lol these ppl are scaming.
