Recording, said "this call is for Jane Doe (not my name, but the name of a friend!, if we've reached her press 1, if this is not the right person press 2".  Then left an 800 number to contact - I didn't catch the number
    and the message didn't repeat.
    How Odd.

Got a call from this number at FIVE FORTY FIVE AM.  Ticked me off.  Left no voicemail.  Why a collection agency (according to these posts) is allowed to call at 545 am is beyond me.  GRRR!!!!

They are not allowed to call before 8 am or after 9 pm.

they are known for violating FDCPA regularly -the debt is probably not valid at all.

report them to the Federal Trade Commission

Have you ever wondered what scum was really like? This agency may fit that profile. Loud-mouthed debt collectors who appear to have never read an FDCPA training manual will threaten you with almost any type of act that results in a payment to them, including bogus threats of pending legal actions.

    From their website...
"Our success is based on the collective experience, leadership and integrity of our people"

Duhhh! Mr. Debt Collector Kotula I think you flunked your 'mission statement'.  Do you REALLY think anyone believes this web propaganda you published? Of course not!

Stay far away from this group of moronic misfits and keep both hands on your money. Northeast has a LONG history of lies, threats and abuse.

CAUTION: I recommend you NEVER disclose your bank account or credit card information to a debt collector, as you risk them emptying your account, or maxing out your credit card. If you feel they are reporting on your credit bureau files in error or need assistance in dealing with them, email  the details w/your location.  Assistance and referral to a consumer legal specialist may be available.

sue, the same thing happenes to me daily. i call the cincinnati police dept about them and they tell me that you have to show thru caller id that they have called daily for 10 consecutive business days before they can do anything about them as far as harrassment. whoever it is must know this, cause at least in my case, they call 7-9 days in a row, then wait 3 or 4 days and repeat the process. they are a dept colletor, just not sure for what.

Called but left no message.  I called back and (using caller ID block on my phone) and an automated system informed me I had reached "NCC" (the Northeast Credit & Collections listed above?).

I held for an operator and explained I had received a phone call but no message.  He attempted to look up my information by phone number, but had to ask me for it (since I had blocked it by pressing *67 before the call).  When he mentioned a name on the account (that was NOT mine), I kindly explained that was not me, I had this phone number for the last five years, and I had actually never heard of that person.  He apologized and said he would update the account so that I would received no more phone calls.  I thanked him and said "Have a good day".

Now that I confirmed the debt was not mine, I added this number to my 'Call Block' list (*60 for Verizon customers).

This number called and when I answered I was asked to press 1 for English. I did. Someone answered and didn't seem to be speaking English, so I said "I'm sorry, what did you say?" and they hung up on me. I'm certain it's another call for the same person we get calls for every other day of the week, even though we tell them they don't live here and never have. I'm debating on changing my number to an unlisted one just so they can't look up our last name and try to track down this creep. We've had this number for 11 years and may change it over these jerks who won't take no for an answer.

I receive numerous calls from this number.  I'm told to press one for English.  First of all, why the heck should I push anything if someone is calling me?

We can fix these nasty people by using fire to fight fire:

Get yourself a fax program for your computer.  Put this number in as the fax number, set the retries to something like 5000, and set the time before retry to 1 minute.  Now let'er rip.  If enough people attempt to "return their call" in this manner it will crash their phone system.

    Problem solved.
