Received a call from 513-399-4153 asking for a co-worker of mine.  He spoke of a lawsuit filed, arrest within 3 days...He gave me his name of Officer Mike Brown of the Federal Legislative Department.  I called the number back and a recording said I had reached IRS  Chief Counsel criminal tax attorney Ron McAllister who was either unavailable or on the other line, and if I would leave my name and number, he would call me back.

Someone called and told me that I was going to be arrested if I didn't speak to Xavier wouldn't tell me what I was being sued for or who was suing me. Say that this was a Federal offense.

The IRS is warning the public about a phone scam that targets people across the nation, including recent immigrants. Callers claiming to be from the IRS tell intended victims they owe taxes and must pay using a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer. The scammers threaten those who refuse to pay with arrest, deportation or loss of a business or driver’s license.

The callers who commit this fraud often:
Use common names and fake IRS badge numbers.
Know the last four digits of the victim’s Social Security number.
Make caller ID appear as if the IRS is calling.
Send bogus IRS emails to support their scam.
Call a second time claiming to be the police or DMV, and caller ID again supports their claim.

The truth is the IRS usually first contacts people by mail – not by phone – about unpaid taxes. And the IRS won’t ask for payment using a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer. The agency also won’t ask for a credit card number over the phone.

If you get a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS asking for a payment, here’s what to do:
If you owe federal taxes, or think you might owe taxes, hang up and call the IRS at 800-829-1040. IRS workers can help you with your payment questions.
If you don’t owe taxes, call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Be alert for phone and email scams that use the IRS name. The IRS will never request personal or financial information by email, texting or any social media. You should forward scam emails to phishing@irs.gov. Don’t open any attachments or click on any links in those emails.
Read more about tax scams on the genuine IRS website, IRS.gov.

I received a call just yesterday from this same number 513-399-4153, only they were claiming to be from the Department of Cyber crime and the guy whos name was Steven Farko? and his assistant whos name was Michelle Morris ID number 154236. Anyways, he claimed he was an attorney representing some online loan companies. He threatened jail time and arrest by the US Marshals, a $3000 fine if I did not pay in $492.36. Playing a game of fear, I let him talk, took note of what was said, the phone number, follow  up phone calls he made which went to my voicemail, saying I had no reason to be scared and that if I sent the money everything would be fine. Yeah right.....I went straight to file a police report, and then alerted the FBI, the FTC for my social security number, and the credit bureaus. I called him back on a blocked call from a different phone and told them they were under investigation and then the phone calls stopped.  Dont be intimidated by these scammers, and dont show them that you are scared.

I got a message from the office at my work saying a Michael Brown from the federal legislature had called repeatedly. When I returned the call I got a voicemail box of a Brian Jackson, I left several messages. He finally answered and was very rude and hung up on me. After some research on phone number 513-399-4153, I found many reports exactly like mine. This is obviously a scam.

I have received approximately 6  to 8 calls from Michael Brown today making the same claim...I was in trouble, I'm being sued, etc....I didn't let him go far enough into the spiel and told him never to call me again. He then called my work number. Told him again not to call. Michael, before telling me to "listen very carefully and try to understand" should endeavor to learn to speak English. Much more convincing if you want to be taken seriously as being from the Federal Legislative Department.

Oh by the way, Mike Brown has many jobs...he also left me a vm saying that he was from Cash Advance America and had approved me for a $7000 loan. The next vm was approval for a $5000 loan. Guess if you don't call back your credit line gets reduced...LOL!  SCAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

As most of you I received a call from one Brian Jackson claiming to be from some type of cybercrime unit. Stating that I had court today (Friday January 10, 2014) I did not let him get any further as I told him that I was aware of their scam, he hung up but called back at later time and insisted on speaking with me. So when I got on the phone I told him that I ha contacted my local law enforcement and County Attorney and once again he hung up the phone. I guess they think we’re all so stupid that we wouldn’t know about something such as court or law suit etc. A person would be summonsed to court and delivered court papers via the Sheriff’s office or other law enforcement agency there was any real legitimacy to what they were saying. There idiots…..

Yes someone called me today, a paralegal lady called me of Muslim decent and I could barely understand her, then I heard other people talking in the background so after I realized that didn't make sense...but anyways she had me call the number and Bryan Jackson was this lawyers name telling me that because I applied for a online loan and people have been calling me all day about a loan. Never give your info online! Talking about there was a fee for the few I did and I was going to go to jail...Wtf! I knew that didn't make sense and I told him that because I had an online loan so theres no way there's no fee for applying for a loan online and he hung up. They thought they could scam me, lol, I'm not that one!
