I work for The Christ Hospital and they do give automated calls to pre-register. That's how you're able to bypass 10 sheets of paperwork when you go to see your doctor. It's actually safer than paperwork. Just FYI.

It's likely your doctor's office calling, pre-registration (to update your demographics and insurance information prior to an appointment or procedure), an appointment/procedure reminder, a patient within the hospital calling from their room, etc. It will almost always pop up as (513)585-0000. If you don't answer, you'll generally get an automated phone message with an actual phone number to return a call to. Or if it's your doctor's office itself, it will be an actual person who leaves a message but only if you have identifying information on your voicemail letting them know they've called you and not someone else (HIPAA regulation requirements).
