they call and hold the phone then hang up

I've gotten calls from this number for a couple days now. No one ever says a word when I answer, then they hang up. So I called the number back from my masked work number. The gentleman who answered (and I use that term lightly) said the company was Cynex (spelling is most likely incorrect) and kept asking for my number. I asked him what this company does and he said "it handles personal business." He again asked me for my number and I refused. He then got pretty upset and his attitude changed quickly and responded with "Then why'd you call in if you won't give me your damn number?!" I promptly hung up on him and blocked his number. See how you like getting hung up on [***].

I have been repeatedly called by this number 513-898-9256.  At first I would answer it and they would just keep the line open not saying anything at all.  I have quit answering my phone when this number comes up and there is never a voice mail left.  I have no way of blocking this number .......it is just very ANNOYING!!!!!!

Same as above with the exception that I only answered it one time with the line holding then hanging up.  I have not answered since, but they call 2-3 times a day.  Very annoying!

I receive calls from this number starting at 8am. I work nights and they keep waking me up. No one ever says anything and they never leave a message .All they do is hangup .If this is a collection agency of some sort. They can be reported for abuse And by my state law, I can tell them to not call and they HAVE to obey or get sued.This has been going on for a week.  Yesterday it was 8:15 am .Turning off the phone so I can sleep.

This is a collection company by the name of Senex. Not sure why, but they like to hang up when you answer.

Called them back because when you answer they hang up. If you don't answer, no voicemail is left. They have been calling every day of the week, including Sunday. They have called between 8am and 10pm (even on Sunday). When i called and said that it is ridiculous for them to be calling so late and early on Sundays the lady adamantly denied that they call on Sundays. Liars! Anyway it was the debt collection company,  Senex.

Start at 8: 00 am, is that how business is handle nowadays. The guy that called is rude! He want even say who he is.

I received several calls from this number. How can I block it?

So, just block them, and continue using this great site for information to be in control of your own home and cell phone calls.  If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know (number not on this site), just call them back.  No problem. MY HOME PHONE (Panasonic Link2Cell Bluetooth® KX-TGH263B LCD/2 Handsets) BLOCKS 250 NUMBERS AND THE ADDRESS BOOK HOLDS 3,000 numbers and the phone talks to you and says spam from across the room (like if you are up on a ladder).  I save each call as spam and don't answer it.  Right now I have 98 numbers saved as spam and still have room for 2900 more.

I have been getign calls from this place multiple times a day. I have blocked them due to them calling ridiculous hours of the day, several times during the day and even on weekends.

I missed a call from them called them back some guys said that a matter of came to their intention about a company complaints and needed to know my birthday told him my birthday he said we have a different birthday on file will take your number off...  it was just weird

On your cellular device, hold the number down, and add it to you reject call list.  I just did!!

called at 8am.. said they were from Direct connect.. wanted my phone number?? I said no.. then hung up.

So, without much effort (they pretended to have the wrong birthday to prompt you to tell them the correct one), you told them your birthday. Now they know your exact age, your gender (from your voice) and your phone number. They will now sell your phone number to telemarketers who want to target a particular demographic -- women aged 35-45, men over 60, etc. You helped them turn what was just a random phone number into a valuable and sellable piece of data.

They could also be combining this with other data about you they've already collected, to build a more complete identity profile.

Think about it -- does that call make any kind of sense, otherwise? Somebody make a complaint about a company and somehow your birthday is an important piece of information? All this was, was an easy scam to get you to give out information.

Don't tell an unknown caller anything about you at all, no matter how harmless it may seem. They are evil. Just tell them to take your phone number off of their call list.

Just got a call from them, they asked to speak to my father. I informed them that they had reached his *child* and asked what I could help them with. The guy said 'Oh sorry, we'll remove this number from our call list.' I asked who was calling and what this was in reference to, he promptly hung up. I know he was on the line long enough to hear me ask that question, there was call center noise in the background, when he didn't answer me I said hello? and then he hung up.
