Received a call from this number claiming to be Capital One, calling regarding suspicious activity on my debit card.  Told the person I had a bad connection and would need to call back.  He gave me a toll free number 800-536-8831, confirmed with Capital One that this is NOT one of there phone numbers.  Confirmed that it was a scam call.

Voice mailer claimed to be a rep for the "card/fraud protection" part of Capital One.   She made a few "uhs..." as if she was reading from a piece of paper (or the monitor) and almost mixed up the ending reference number.   She also gave the phone number 1-800-536-8831.  A simple Google search can tell you this is not a legit Capital One phone number.   --> https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-536-8831

When in doubt, call the actual bank number. This is, otherwise, an official scam.  The caller's ID even reads: "VANTIV"

Female voice said she was with the fraud department.  Would not tell me what company.  She said my card had been blocked.  Would not tell me what card.  I told her to kiss my [***] and hung up.

Got a call from this number, did not answer as there was no ID. They left a voice message claiming to be CardTron calling on behalf of CapitalOne and stated my card had been compromised and I should call the 800# they left. This is a scam! I called MY number for CapitalOne on the back of my card and this has nothing to do with CapitalOne. They also texted me.

I called Capital One and customer service and they said that VANTIV is indeed their fraud monitoring company.  She transferred my call directly to them and they removed the fraud alert from my card.  I guess I need to re-order my Viagra!  ;)
