Scammer wanting to send check for craigs list item

What is the scam? He is sending me a check for my truck.

(1) Check will be for MORE than the asking price. (2) You will be asked to "Western Union" the difference to his "Shippers". (3) In about 2, or more weeks you'll find out the check is phoney. (4) You're out the money, the expenses, & the time to talk to the cops for depositing a phoney check. The crook is hoping you will send money, or goods, before you find out the check is no good. Scam is not new.

Thank you!  Had a check on it's way that I just told "Kevin" I would not be depositing.  He also uses the number 5139008306.
