    It is NOT a telemarketer.
    It is NOT a survey.
It's a SCAM. Do  not answer.

Reçu un appel de ce numéro, mais je n'ai pas répondu. Aucun message laissé. Peu de gens ont mon numéro de téléphone cellulaire... ce qui laisse entendre que les numéros appelés sont choisis au hasard.

Incredible that this scam is still ongoing. It's pure fraud. Yet the police do nothing as usual. Scammers can steal millions with impunity and nothing happens to them. "Law enforcement" should be ashamed.

You do realise the police don't handle unwanted phone calls, right?

You are very much mistaken. Scams are fraud. Fraud is a criminal offence in Canada.

Perhaps you should actually read that law and understand it. Unless you or another call recipient was defrauded "of any property, money or valuable security or any service", the police is not going to do anything about your unwanted call.

    Quote:
380 (1) Every one who, by deceit, falsehood or other fraudulent means, whether or not it is a false pretence within the meaning of this Act, defrauds the public or any person, whether ascertained or not, of any property, money or valuable security or any service,
    Source: https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/c-46/section-380.html

    Quote:
Note: If you suspect fraud, you can report it to your local police force or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (1-888-495-8501), a national service jointly operated by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Competition Bureau.
    Source: https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/phone/telemarketing/identit.htm

Suspecting fraud and providing proof of fraud are not the same thing, so if you merely complain you got a call, they will ignore you.

Interesting how neither you nor the person i replied to could be bothered to explain what the actual scam is.

You are wrong for two reasons.
    - Section 24 of the Criminal Code of Canada makes attempting to commit an offence a crime. Every jurisdiction have a similar provision in their respective criminal code. Attempting to commit fraud or commit a burglary or a murder are crimes. How can you not know this?
    - Call centres run by organized criminal gangs make thousands of calls per day. They may not have succeeded with one partical attempt but likely have for many others. There is ample ground to start an investigation.
You must be working for one of those scammers to post such disinformation.

The troll is probably replying to Mike but doesn't want its reply seen.  Keeps changing its screen name as well so it most certainly is here to cause problems.

You trying to tell me you can stand before a Judge and simply say, "This number called me about a survey and I think it's a fraud, your Honor!" and the Judge will say "Ok, throw them in jail for disturbing this persons phone!!"  Nobody in this thread has yet to point out what the fraud is about, so until someone does, how can you make a claim it is a fraud and to call the police? What are you going to tell the police? Several people already mentioned the police aren't doing anything, maybe that should be a clue that they haven't been given anything about fraud or attempted fraud to investigate as yet.

Seems to me you are the scammer here trying to propagate misinformation to make fake reports to slow down the on going investigations into real crimes.

Boy that is a heck of a phone, since it not only blocked the number automatically but it reported the call to the proper agency as a scam.
