Repeated calls to my fax line. I'm on a no-call list. These people should be charged.

I get these calls frequently - robocalls about political opinion surveys. I, too, am supposedly on the DNC list, but it doesn't seem to apply to these folks. My mum also gets many of these calls, often one or more a day, and she continues to report them to the CRTC, but nothing is being done. God forbid we deal with these idiots who interrupt our life incessantly!

Same thing.  Message starts off with the purpose answering to a survey and then we're led into ... winning a 2-day cruise.  I'm also on the DNC list, why are we still getting these calls ???  Need to investigate further...we're getting more and more calls of the sort.

These calls are very annoying and there seems to be no way of stopping them. We get these calls on a daily basis. The # 514 447 3884 just called and no one answered. If you don't asnwer they will call back under another #. We must have had over 20 calls in the last several weeks. When trying to call back the message says" This call can not be made from your area.  Is there anyway to stop these people?

The source is spoofing the Call Display - it isn't a real number, and they use a variety of new numbers weekly.  It is a computer auto-dialer, so Blocking doesn't help.  The fake 30-second survey has added some codes, so it now bypasses the auto-dailer-cutoff from my Rogers Home Phone line.  Now I'm plagued with the same voicemail messages.

Did a reverse lookup on 1-800Notes last week - one user has posted valid weblink information identifying the culprits behind IND SURVEY GROUP and the 'fake cruise/fake survey'; a known troublesome timeshare company.  The relevant parts of the posting are quoted below.  Of particular interest is both the 'Ripoff Report' which outlines all the timeshare companies/names run & owned by this The Berkley Group (not the consulting company in Canada; but the Florida timeshare selling corporation); and the U.S./Florida Class Action Lawsuit:

My sincere thanks to the originator!  In Canada, I describe and log every call to both the Do Not Call Registry AND the RCMP's PhoneBusters email 'info@antifraud.ca".  This company has plagued me for over a year!  I'm now adding this posting info also EVERY time I get a fake call.  If we don't help; these fraudster won't get shut down.  Thank goodness for this website!

stop calling me. How do we stop these annoying calls. They call everyday!!!!! I just reported another number also and I will keep doing it., I will never answer them. but the ringing is driving me nuts.

A couple of calls every evening- getting very annoying

This "political survey" won't stop calling, I have been called 4 times today! How do we stop it?

l:00 p.m. received call -(from 514-447-3084) I was sitting right beside the 'phone so I answered it - no one on line (or delay by use of recording machine)
I receive so many unwanted calls every day that it defeats the purpose of having my land line -- and I have to pay a monthly fee to allow them to annoy me.
I am receiving some calls from the Conservatives (and also the Wild Rose Party until I informed them that I have lost confidence in their leader)   Is there another election looming on the horizon?

À chaque fois, je raccroche.  En faisant une recherche sur Internet avec les numéros en question, je suis arrivée sur le présent site et vos messages ont confirmé ce que je pensais.
Je suis inscrite à la La Liste nationale de numéros de télécommunication exclus (LNNTE) qui permet au consommateur de décider s’il veut recevoir des appels de télévendeurs.
J'ai donc téléphoné et avec patience, car on doit passer de service en service en pesant sur des numéros, j'ai parlé à une préposée qui m'a dit avoir bien fait de les appeler et que PLUS IL Y AURA DES APPELS de gens importunés qui feront une plainte, plus il y aura de poids pour leur enquête.

Every time I hang up. By doing an Internet search with the numbers in question, I discover this site and your messages have confirmed what I thought.
I am listed on the National Do Not Call List  (DNCL), which allows the consumer to decide whether to receive telemarketing calls.
So I phoned and with patience, because you have to go from department to department by pressing numbers, I spoke to a clerk who told me I had done well by calling them and that WITH MORE PHONE CALLS from people bothered who will make a complaint, the greater the weight for their investigation.

Go to the CRTC website. There you should be able to report this...also phonebusters in ON is supoosed to handle this.

OK, here's the deal with 514-447-3084: these are a bunch of criminal cockroaches running a scam to get your charge card number, plain and simple. Just like they are.

Here's how they do it: you get an automated call saying that they are conducting a survey on Canadian political subjects. It's three questions taking thirty seconds, you key in your response from 1 to 5 on your touch tone phone, and your 'reward' for completing a survey is a free cruise for you and your guests (unlimited!) on Caribean Cruise Lines. Yes, they name the cruise line.

This is probably how they get around the Canadian 'Do Not Call List', which allows "research" and "customer surveys". Pretty lame.

So after you key in your answers to the three questions, which are pretty obtuse, you get transferred to a live person who sells you on how wonderful the cruise to the Bahamas is, and how many guests will travel with you? They go on about how the trip works, the ports of call, and won't you have fun! After the long song and dance, they tell you that you will be on your way, you just have to pay for port taxes, which at $59.95 per person (mulitplied by the number of guests you're bringing) doesn't sound too unreasonable. Then they say: do you want to pay for that by Visa, MasterCard, or American Express? Oh, and if you hesitate, they say that this is an online promotion, and if you don't pay for the port taxes now, you'll loose this opportunity, because after all, they only have a few spots left and they would have to give the prize to someone else!

It's a con job. Outright sleazery, and I can't understand how creeps like this are allowed to live. I played along with these criminals just to see how much of their time I could waste before they wised up and hung up on me. I burned out one of their 'operators' and her sleazy 'supervisor' in 24 minutes! Hey! If we all wasted their time rather than hang up on them, they couldn't keep this up!

It has become a nuisance being called everyday from this number. I called back but there was busy tone after a pause.

We need to put a stop to these unnecessary/unknown callers.It's very disruptive amongst other things.

DON'T TALK to these cockroaches just blast them with a #4 dial-tone, they hang-up after 10 seconds, keep doing this eventually they move on, if you talk to them your phone # goes on a SUCKERS list.

As usual I let my machine answer when I don't recognize the number. I know no one in the province of Quebec, so I'm assuming it's part of this bigger scam where they are using numbers from various provinces to call people and try to scam them. I report all the numbers to the CRTC. There are probably thousands of calls per day because I get at least 5 or 6 per day from various numbers. I imagine this is multiplied by hundreds of people per day. Don't know if the CRTC can keep up with these guys.
