Third call in as many days.
There is a perfect solution to these calls and a goldmine for anyone who wants to pursue it. They just need to build and sell a Caller ID box that only allows the phone to ring if the number MATCHES a programmed list. All other numbers can be left for the answering machine to answer or terminated by a short off hook depending on the area code. I am an electronics designer and computer programmer, retired from a Telecom company so I quite easily built myself such a device and have not be disturbed by a SINGLE unsolicited call for almost two years. It would completely destroy telemarketing and scams, since it's pointless for a telemarketer or a scam artist to leave a message. Therefore I mostly get legitimate messages like from the optometrist, with an occasional recorded message from Big Brothers or a debt reduction scam. And when the phone does ring I don’t mind running for it because it's always someone I know.

This is the 3rd time this week, and at 6 a.m., that someone at this # has called my house.  They do not have the decency to answer the phone when I ask 'who is calling'.  I will report this incidence to my local MP and I know they will deal with it.

Was called again at 6:38am today. How do I stop these calls?

Getting daily calls from this number and slight variances (514-447-30xx), 8:30 every morning. Nobody on the end if I answer, they just hang up. My schedule is such that I am not awake at 8:30. These people need their service cut off.

No one there.  Why do they even bother?

Received a call from these buggers 15 minutes ago.  They've called my home phone number 7 times in the past two weeks!

i understand that if you hit the # key several times after answering the call it will remove you from the computer system on their side,, whata ya got to lose ??

Blocked it yesterday, still got called today. Anybody got any other ideas?

This number phoned me today and when I listened it just hung up. Wish I could block it.

This number has called daily for the last month. They either call when I'm out or at times when I don't have time to listen to the whole recording. Today was the first time I listened to the whole recording.

I have been chosen to partipate in a survey. For answering I could win a Caribean cruise. Press one to accept; Press two to decline. (I'm not brave enough to press either)

I'm in Ottawa, that number calls every morning around 9am, nobody on the other end.

I just got the same phone number that call me. Nothing....hang up after a minute.

Usually that is a machine that dial every number on the list to see if it still in service and hear the voice of the person then it hang up and at the end of the certain hours it sent out to scammers or solicitors to call us.

I want to thank you Canadians for allowing our call centre to call your country's phone numbers despite your Do Not Call list. This provides employment for many American folk who can then pay taxes and keep our government active and growing. Stephen Harper agrees this is the ultimate example of Free Trade, even if the benefits accrue only to Americans. I hope Clint Eastwood doesn't pick up on this prior to the Election. After the Election, I may have to find a job in one of these call centres. Land of the Brave, Home of the Telemarketers! And no Keystone Pipeline on my watch.

If this is really a US originated call, we should all fill out this form and have them shut down

I have received robo-calls purportedly from 514-447-3084 (today), 514-447-3085 (Aug. 23), 514-447-3104 (Aug. 16), 514-447-8034 (Aug. 15 and Jul. 25), 514-447-3085 (Jul. 30), 514-447-3098 (Jul. 26). The displayed numbers is spoofed and the criminals keep changing it. They are not very creative though, since they use similar numbers.

Also just received a call from this number on Sat Sept 1 @ 09:05 MDT in edmonton, alberta.  Wife says she has been getting many calls re: political survey / cruise from a 514 area code.  Last one started with a recorded message from 'Roberta', she hung up after a short time.  I'd like to get a call blocker that can block based on an area code if possible.
