I believe this phone belongs to a telephone sales company.

these people keep calling and it's very annoying, please help stop them.. I've registered already to stop these calls

Got a call from this number wanting me to do a survey and promising a Caribbean cruise.  Brief 5 question survey supposedly to do with fiscal crisis but asking questions about the oil pipeline down to the USA.  The Canadian Taxpayers Federation was mentioned in one of the questions.

I have received several phone calls from this number. Each time they ask you to participate in a political survey and promise you have won a trip to the Bahamas.  Sounds like a scam, and hanging up doesn't stop them from calling again and again.

Most phones nowadays have the Call Block feature. I have a Panasonic and after they hangup I go to call block that number. Follow these steps
Press CID, go to List, Identify the number, then press Save. Save to Call Block by pressing Select. They select Yes and then Save again. Now that number is blocked. If they call again in that number it will be cut off with the first ring

as annoying as this call numbbber is, the company is using a loop hole to the dnc list. The exclusion to the dnc resides with survey companys...the problem being that the dnc list applies to only those companies that are directly selling a product or service. You can complain to the privacy commissioner, but the likelihood it would get anywhere is slim to nil

Fake surveys that are really attempts to charge fees to your credit card are not allowed by the do not call list. Only legitimate survey companies are exempt, and they do not offer "prizes."

These people are ignoring the DNC list.  They are constantly phoning at all times of the day and night.  They are trying to sell the notion that they are running a political survey, when in fact they are trying to assess public acceptance for Enbridge and the pipeline through BC to Kitimat/Prince Rupert.  They are offering a "prize" which signals a scam and should countervail any argument of legitimacy.  This is telemarketing of the worst kind: soliciting "opinions" which favour the desired outcome.

Grrr.  Have had several calls from this number.  Autoated survey previously, I hung up this time before their machine started talking.

Ive just received this phone call and yesterday and before etc ... When i answer, nobody talk ! I have a panasonic phone and i've done whats is right up for blocked the caller... Will see !

If it is the same people who have been calling before with the survey and cruise offer, it has nothing to do with politics, Harper or the oil pipe line.  That is just a ruse to get past the DNC list.  It is an company called Political Opinions of America and they sell time-share vacations.  It's a sales scam.  They are not in Montreal, they use a rerouting service.  I have had calls from Nelson B.C. and various area codes in the States.

I took the option of having my name removed from their list ('9' after the recorded message) so will see if that really works.
