called my office...i answered...they hung up!

We've been getting this number calling us everyday for the last two weeks. I answer, nobody is on the other side and the line just clicks. Tried to call it back but it says its out of service? ugh. so annoying.

They called and hung up when I answered. They are checking to make sure it is a live number so they can start harassing you from other numbers. Immediately started getting calls from other numbers about my "Google listing" Only reason I answered it is because 514 is a Canadian # and we are on national DNC list so thought it was legitimate.. When you try to call the number back it says it is out of service. Time to start holding the phone companies accountable. This # is Bell Canada. I'm going to call them and find out why they have an outgoing call number that says out of service when you call it back.

Very persistent about merchant rates and I said we aren't interested in changing companies or looking at our rates as we don't used merchant services often and don't even have a machine. We are on the DNC list but I guess they don't care? She said she'd call back and speak to the person that handles that but even though I said we aren't interested.

asked for whoever was in charge of our 'merchant account' at the company i work for, when I said they're not in and asked if I could take a message the woman sounded offended and didn't really know what to say. Clearly just another scam after small businesses.

Yeah, I got the same "merchant account" BS and she started "phishing" for usable information. Definitely a scam of some sort and I may have heard it before but coming from a different phone number. I can see they keep calling almost daily.

Didn't respond to this call as I seldom get out of town calls.  I set my phone to forward to my voicemail after several rings, with a message asking people text or WhatsApp me.

I answered call, hear the 'click' as it changed from robocall to whatever, I just hung up at that point.  These incessant calls are helping me learn my area codes.  514 - we have no dealings with anyone in Quebec. (if that's even where they're from)

robo dialed here again today.  I hung up before connection to live person, whom I've told in the past we're not interested in their crap.

Just dead air then disconnected. After reading some of the notes here, I am kind of glad they did hang up lol.

Called 5 times in the morning and left no messages on the voice mail. They are scammers.  Our phone is on the Do not call list of the CRTC.  If they were of any legitimate cause they would have left a message.

Business line. The phone rang. I answered with my business name. Immediately there was ringing, as if I was phoning somebody, and after 2 rings the ringing stopped, and "Merchant Services" was on the line. She asked for me by name. I asked what this was about, and she started asking me if I had received the reductions on the various forms of payment. I blew a whistle into the phone, told her not to  phone this number again, and hung up.

Answered and no one there - a couple of clicks after about 15 sec.  Hung up on them.
Annoying.

credit and debit scam

Apparently, my answering last month put me on a call list. As soon as I answered today I heard a click and then it took me to a very loud man speaking in a very loud office. He tried to tell me he was with INKAS and needed to talk to me about our debit and credit machines. Lucky for me, we don't have any so I told him he had the wrong number and hung up. Doubt it will be the last I will hear from him but I will definitely report to CASL
