I received a call telling me that I owed a student loan to a school I had never heard of and the girl kept insisting she had the right person even though she had the wrong middle initial.

This is a debt collection agency -- apparently they want to start collecting on student loans my 14 year old daughter doesn't even have yet. Good luck trying to get them to remove you from the list. I've called multiple times and each time I get transferred to a "supervisor" who does nothing.

I just got a call at work from them.  They had my first name, wrong middle name and madin last name.  I told them I did not have outstanding students loans.  They were very rude!  Calling my work all day.

Sounds like a scam or fishing expedition. Called me at work over student loans that were probably in excess of 3 times the what I'd paid off YEARS ago from a lender I didn't recognize, using various threats of legal action and wage garnishment.

So, I as politely as I could muster, I called BS; THEN they started asking for my personal information (DoB, SSI#) to prove to them they got the wrong person. That's when I told them to shove it, send me something on paper if they're not full of crap and hung up.
