They call often and pretend to be representing government agencies, always say the same thing. Always are either very rude or hang up on me when I ask what the call is regarding so I can get them to the correct person. They will never get our business.

Cakes very rude. They ask for the president and can’t pronounce company name or anything. Then they keep asking won’t tell who they are and then falsely represent they are part of a contract we have w a federal agency.

Woman claiming to represent the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey wanted to speak with their liaison, then dropped away.  Caller ID read PUBLICATIONS; researching this number from the Call Log led to University Sports Publications a/k/a Professional Sports Publications -- a major sales pest who last hounded us in 2017.

    Office Manager
Called and asked to speak to the owner. When I inquired his business he mumbled something about a federal project and needing to speak to the owner (calling him by first name). I explained that each project has a Project Manager and that is who they needed to speak to. Insisted that was not the case and needed to speak to the owner. When I asked him to leave a message he indicated he didn't have any contact information. I hung up. The caller ID shows "CVJ Department" and Google shows University Sports Publications

This person called wanting to speak with my company's CEO (did not get their name correct the entire conversation), and sounded extremely pushy. I barely got the caller's name & was unable to get the purpose of their call, but they kept asking if the CEO was in today. They ended the call by saying they will call back another time, and that they were sorry for bothering us.

He has called 3 times now, this time asking for a specific person who he thought was our president, but the name he asked for has never been an employee here (its a family owned company and I know the name of every employee since 1965).  Then he said 'oh, I must have old information, that must be a prior president', I told him no, there has never been anyone employed here by that name.  When I tried to get information from him, he just kept saying he's calling about a project involving all of the American ports.  I asked him to be more specific about this "project" so we can figure out if it would even apply to our company (we manufacture our own line of specialized fittings), but he danced around every single question I asked him, saying it was "very detailed" or "really involved" as the reasons why he didn't want to get into what he was calling about.  At one point I asked if he was calling about shipping, but he still wouldn't answer.  He said he needs to go back and check his information and will call back later this week since he seems to have bad info.  He and whatever company he is calling from seems very sketchy!!  How are you going to call a business but refuse to tell them why you are calling???

I should add that the caller said his name was James, and he's called our business a total of 3 times now over the last 3 weeks, and each time he does the same as I mentioned above.  I'm very curious what the heck he's actually calling about, but I think we're going to block his phone # from our system - all 3 times he's called from the same (516) 327-9500 number.

The individual called my company 2 more times since this post. The caller introduced themselves as Zack from the company The Port, and wanted to speak to the CEO regarding American ports. Additionally, their answer kept changing whenever I ask if the CEO was expecting their phone call.
