Caution, 516-453-6837 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain, but they failed... you can still file a complaint here to fight back against unethical telemarketers.

This number called my personal cell, and hung up on me. REALLY made me angry...does anyone knw of a site where I can list my cell or home number to block telemarketers (I know it won't stop them COMPLETELY)...but it will help some. I used to know of a really good site, but can't remember it. I have a private unlisted home number, and honestly, NOTHING STOPS telemarketers completely. SUX.

Keep calling with no one on the line.

Received call from 1 (516) 453-6831 and answered but no one responded. We have family up that way so thought perhaps it was one of them. Very annoying and will report them.

I didn't even answer it because I knew it was junk.

It shows up as "New York"

Called me on Verizon.

Answered it to tell them to take me off their call list, but they just hung up when I answered- without saying anything. It's probably a computer dialing random numbers just to find valid ones. Ugh. We are already registered on the National Do Not Call list, too.

Register your numbers with the National Do Not Call Registry- just look that up via Google. It helps, but it still hasn't stopped all of the calls for us. Some of the telemarketers, and probably all of the illegal spammers just ignore it. You can report unwanted calls after you are registered, and the callers are then supposed to receive a fine... if they can actually be tracked down.

Left a message saying that I can get a Capital One card.

I just got a call from 516-453-6831 and didn't answer it.  I assumed it wasn't really person since I been getting calls for 641-569-5036 and similar number.  Recently been getting calls from 641-929-3461.  They really need to be stopped.  They call four to five times which immediately me know not answer because nobody I know would do that ever specially with 641 or 516.  Don't call list  need to step it up and fine $1000 or more per call. Public would completely support getting rid of unwanted calls from telemarketers.  I think telemarketers need getting some jail time as well.

The message is from Cathy with Financial Freedom about some preapproved consolidation loan. Funny, since I have nothing to consolidate and have never applied.

Got the same message for Cathy about consolidation of bills. Gee its funny i don't have any  bills to consolidate. then tried to call back on their 800 number and the morons won't answer their own phone.

i got a call from this number and no one said anything.  This person or persons need to go help someone in need instead of harrassing us.

I got a call from this number on my new cell phone, which I got through StraightTalk, and this particular phone model runs off the Verizon network. I have only had it for just under a month. I have given two people this new number. I didn't even answer when I got the call, because I knew it couldn't possibly be anyone that I know.

Actually, I have had this new cell phone service for 35 days. So after a month, I get a spam call? Hmmm.
I wonder who gave them my number or else how they got it...

Recieved a call from this number a few days ago.  They were calling a state university phone number, and when I answered, assuming it was one of our constituents, no one was there.  We also recieved a call yesterday from a similar number (450-321-0759) with the same results.  Annoying....

Got a call from 516-453-6831 this morning on my cell phone. I don't know anyone from this area code. I figured it was a telemarker or collection angency so I did not answer it. No message was left in my voicemail. I did not receive a call from this number since.  It's not the first time I received telemarking calls on my cell phone. I never give out my cell phone number to businesses unless its necessary. my number is also on the do not call registry so I expect not to receive these types of calls. Its annoying.

I got a call on my iPhone from this number.  When I answered the camera clicked.  Not sure if it took a picture or not.  This is really creepy.

i got the call and there was no one on the other end.  finally the call just went to dial tone.  reported number to national do not call register.
