Caller id says from  glen cove ny

Called 8/27/12, 5:09pm.  Caller ID reads "C4C FOP NY."  Who are these people?  As soon as machine picked up, I got a dial tone.  Jerks.

Showed up on my caller ID as unknown name.  I didn't answer and they didn't leave a Voice Mail either.

These are scammers - big time.  Seems they're starting their calls again.  They pretend to be the Fraternity of Police Officers.  This time I picked up, told them my precinct said they were scammers, and the police do not call for contributions; also I was on the DNC list and to stop harrasing me.  They slammed the phone.

got call from them yesterday and finally i agreed to provide some support. but when they were verifying my address I told them i wasn't comfortable giving out to strangers on the phone so they hang up.

C4C for NY called me today on Labor Day at 4pm.  Didn't leave msg as I generally let all messages go to my answering machine

An automated message asked for my husband then slammed the phone down!  Caller ID says Glen Cove. I called back and and opted off their calling list.  Hope it works!

Just got a call from this number.  I let it go to my machine and surprisingly the caller asked to speak to Don, then must have realized he was speaking to a machine, and hung up.  Don is my father who never lived at my address nor used my phone number AND he has been deceased for 10 years.  Yes, this must be some kind of scam.

Got a call at 6:35 PM this eveing.If I don't know the number I let it go to my answering machine. I figure if it is important they will leave a message. No message left so no return call from me. TW I think the DNC list is BS because there are was for these people to get around it and they don't care anyways.

Received a call 9/14/12 @ 6:49 PM.  Didn't answer; no message left.  ID said C4C FOP NY.  They're scammers requesting $ & personal info for supposed police benefit.  They have called previously from 516-656-5129.

Calls everyday. Never leaves message.  Same as above.

i just got a call from this number 516-656-5129  says glen cove    the guy on the other end asked for me when i said speaking  he then said well i can speak to any of you   its not even a person  i have told them over and over to stop call so not i call  my Local police  any give them the number

Got a call from the "..fraternal order of police" but I hung up after the introduction.

Because they have several numbers and identities, like C4C FOR NY as well as FRAT ORD POLICE and they call first thing in the morning, or during dinner...and they don't shut the hell up. They are FRAUDS. They insist on reciting their crap, and whatever you say, they give you the tough-guy voice and keep telling you to pay up. Or else? C4C FOP NY called, I let the machine take it. Said please pick up, I'm from the police and I'll be brief, ok?  Blocked the numjber, reported to DNC. I don't know why I bother reporting to them, they do not appear to be doing any good, but maybe it will help someone else.

Yes, well known scammers who use several boiler-plate phone numbers from their toilet on Long Island.

They are known for being nasty bullies and they DON"T pay attention to "Do Not Call" requests. They get up early and don't give a damn if they wake people up, either.

Caller asked for me and I said "Paul speaking" and then nothing.  I think they have called from this number before.
