Package delivery scam. Robo message "This is to notify you that you have a package waiting for you. For more information on how to collect this package. Please contact us Mr. Robert King by calling 516-908-3688. Your package number 3 5 5 U S."

I called the number from my voip phone and after several rings, it goes through to a recorded message from "Publishers Clearinghouse" asking me to leave my name and number if I got a call for a package delivery.

This is a scam. They are trying to steal your identity by getting your SS No and possibly access your bank accounts. Your name address and birthday are public records They DO NOT represent Publishers Clearing House and you have not won astronomical sums of money, It's a play on greed

No, that isn't how the scam works.  When you don't know the facts you should keep your mouth shut so that you don't look foolish.  They tell you that you need to pay "taxes/delivery fees/ and whatever else that they can make up" so that you slowly drain all your savings until you have nothing left.
