They call me daily, despite the fact I just got this number a few days ago, and haven't actually given it to anyone yet. They don't leave a message, so I have blocked the number. I don't owe debt, and I never have.

This number keeps calling me and idk who it is. Probably a scammer

They call and never leave a message. It's a shame that even with the technology that exists today, I can't answer my phone without verifying the number first. When are these douches going to be held accountable!!! STOP THE SPAM!

Unbelievable and disgusting!!! I would report this number to the police and tell them about the threat.

Calls 3 to 7 times a day leaves no message

I got a call from this number and the caller id said "PORTFOLIO RECOVERY'

When you read you learn.  In this case if you had read the other posts you would have found the permanent solution to your problem.

You are very welcome, although I would have hoped that you would have followed the posts and did what I suggested including reporting them to both the federal and state agencies I linked to.

Fake/scam debt collector idiots.

I got a call from this number.  My habit is to not answer numbers I don't recognize. I check here before deciding to call back or answer in the future.  Good thing!  I don't owe them anything so it is a scam.  I suspect that the type of companies that pretend to be a Revenue agency and demand payment using a prepaid credit card are legally able to buy old debt lists and obtain names, phone numbers and other information to instantly populate a list to illegally harass and threaten people into giving them money that they don't have a right to collect.  Maybe not the exact case of this company this time but since illegal harassment gains a lot of money it will continue and increase (as identity theft  has).  Learn how to deal with it.  Thanks BigA for your help.  I plan on following your suggestions and will keep you posted.

Spam numbers from Portfolio Recovery Associates have been calling for over a year from over 100 different numbers, sometimes multiple times a day all hours of the day which is illegal

`   This company has apparently been involved in some rather shady business practices since the hacking of EXPERIAN credit reporting agency.  If you have ANY doubt about your credit situation, you need to call one of the 3 LEGIT agencies and have a complete report sent to you, ASAP.  You are entitled to 1 FREE report per year.  Use IT!  Keep your information up-to-date and keep your sanity.  After all, it Is YOUR credit information, and YOU are responsible for it.

`  If you are being harassed by TeleMarketers and other scamming crooks, get a call blocker and use it.  Now, I do NOT work for these people but, We have our 'puter handling all our incoming calls using a Voice Modem and TraySoft's "PhoneTray FREE v1.39" (NOT their newer, PRO version for $$$29.99 $$$. IMHO "It sucks!"), and ours now has a $hit Li$t of over 70 MILLION (that's correct- "MILLION"!)  #'s and names that have been sent to the "realm of oblivion" for garbage callers, Never to be heard from, ever again!  It's private (no continued contact with "The Mother Ship" is required), it's easy to use, and it's very efficient and effective, ... AND, It's FREE!.  I just Love technology that can be used AGAINST these "pond-scum of our society", don't you?
