    Got a,phone call from this number around 8:00 tonight. Caller ID said Albany, NY. No message left, but I see from the notes I keep (one thing the computer is really useful for--I just keep a short log in word-processing of what numbers I've had to look up), that I had had a similar call on a Tuesday from 518-649-9906. Caller ID said Private Name, but gave the number. No message. Sure looks related to me,

    Got call from number 518-649-9010 and no message. Odd. Is this a scam or telemarketing?

    This is a scam, they present themselves as the NYS Police and are looking for donations and buying bullet proof vests.  As soon as I asked them to send me the information in the mail, they hang up.
