The caller id said Bank of America so i answered the call, a woman's voice says i am calling in a recorded line, I said yes, well who are you calling for, no response, it was not Bank of America, do these people just record the "yes" to be used some illiegal way, now i am worried.

This is definitely a scam. They called, and left no message.  I also got one of these calls, but from Key Bank (we have an account there), again asking me all kinds of questions. Fortunately I had read of this scam where they record you answering questions hoping for you to say yes. They can then isolate  the part where you say "YES" and dub it into a recording of you agreeing to purchasing something, or signing up for something - it's all a big a scam.

I called Key Bank, and spoke to them about the call, and gave them the number that came up on Caller ID. They reminded me that they never call the customer; they would send a letter. But even then these scammers can figure out ways to hack emails and letterheads.

I received a call from this number while I was away from my phone. When I called the number, I got the recording telling me that the number i have reached is not in service.
