I got a call and did some research as well.  I found that I spelled it wrong originally.  It was actually the Oldham Bianchi Group.  It's an insurance agency.

Saw resume online call for job

Got a call from OldhamBianchi Group as well. They said they got my resume from a job/career fair but I never gave my resume to any such company. They didn't say what the company did. The caller set up an interview and then gave me their website address and after looking saw they sold insurance for National Income Life. I do recall giving my resume at a career fair three months ago to a booth for National Income Life but they never said the OldhamBianchi name and it wasn't on the brochure or business card either. Which seems kind of odd to me. Their website didn't have much info to go on (nothing on the actual job) which seemed fishy to me. If you were hiring, wouldn't you want potential hires to know about the company and at least have some idea of what the job entails? I looked around elsewhere online and did find more info and along with what a previous employee I talked to said, it doesn't sound like a good company. Suffice to say,  I canceled my interview. Buyer Beware!!

I actually went in for an interview with this company. The office is very nice they were all very friendly. This is a legit company and a legit job as well. They were placed in one of the top companies to work for on Yahoo HotJobs. I am taking the position. We will see how it goes!

I didnt get a phone call from this number but the rochester one. I've been doing research on this company, Oldham-Bianchi. I'm not sure about this company, on ripoff.com there are a lot of bad reports but some seem from very angry people so i'm not sure. They said they saw my resume on career builder.com first off i just graduated college with a BS in chemistry why they think i would fit is beyond me. But i thought i would go to the interview for practice, for my real interview with bausch and lomb

It's not a scam, it is legit, HOWEVER......you are an independent agent....it is a cutthroat business where you are busting your a$$ to make the money you make.  It is possible to make good money, but it is a hard business.  It is similar to Aflac.  Good luck to those of you who take the job.  I wish you all luck!

My mom took a message from this number, as I wasn't home, I called the number back 5 minutes later and had to leave a message for "Jamie" @ ext 306. Seems a little much when the website says you can make $50,000 to $100,000 in the first year with no sales experience necessary!  Got my resume online too.

I guess I am in the same boat as you guys... Got a call saying they got my resume from hotjobs.com and I have never heard of this company... I googled it and National Income Life appears?!? So i'm guessing this is the same company trying to use a different name. Probably because They suck. My fiance started working w/ them a couple yrs ago. They make you pay for classes to get your license and then you drive miles and miles, loosing more money than you make. It was terrible. I've never heard anything good from that company. i will never work there.

If you are an independant agent, then it is not a legit job.  They are not employing you.  You are giving them some of your income to be associated with the company.  Look up Primerica, too.  Same deal.  You work you rear end off and some people do make a living at it.  You just have no life in doing that.  My advice, if you truly want to sell insurance.  Get your license on your own and sign up with a reputable company.  Don't line someone elses pockets.

National Income is a subsidiary of American Income Life Insurance Company, which is one of the nation's largest providers of supplemental benefits for union members. NILICO is rated A+ with A.M. Best, who rates all insurance companies on their financial strength (ambest.com) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB.org - you have to look under Rochester, NY). New York State law requires anyone to be licensed to sell insurance in the state. Yes, you have to pay for the license (otherwise you could go work for someone else after NILICO) pays), but they reimburse you for that cost after you work there for four weeks. It is NOT like Primerica, where their main concern is recruiting other people.

I have worked at The Oldham-Bianchi Group for two and a half years, starting as an agent, and I am now a manager with several agents under me. At the beginning, when I struggled, all the managers were there to help me, and the office is friendly and fun (go to http://oldhambianchi.com/news.html to see the most recent contest the agency put out). Yes, you work hard, but that is true for any job worth doing, and they pay VERY well. A first year agent can easily expect to make $45K - $75K per year. The company also promotes based on performance, if you excel, you get promoted. Period. As far as driving, as an independent agent, you get to write off your mileage on your taxes (right now it is about 54 cents/mile). You also get the flexibility to work your own schedule. We have several single parents who work only a few days a week and are making $60K - $80K per year. Yahoo.com has ranked the company in the top 50 companies in the country for the last several years, and the number ONE insurance company! None of that would happen if this was a scam or they did not deliver on exactly what they promise. If you get a call about a job, my advice is to go, find out exactly what we do, and how we do it, do your research, and DO NOT believe what you read on the internet. Then you be the judge.

If you read through all the posts, many are written by the same few people, who were disgruntled ex-employees (one of them threatened to kill Mr. Oldham!). Also, Ripoffreport.com did research the company and states on the site, that they do EXACTLY what they claim, and are rated A+ with the Better Business Bureau.

I LOVE how all the comments that are positive say the company is Legit.  Its very uncommon to have this many people use the same word time after time.  LOL Im thinking someone within the company is posting this "POSITIVE" response

Received a call from this # today (10/28).  Callers name was "Angel"  and spoke fast. She was calling from Roger Weisman's office for Oldman-Bianchi. Coinidentally, this is the third call this week I received from an Insurance company asking me to interview for jobs that are vague in description. I don't even have a Sales backgound.


Seems like it is a standard practice Insurance companies use to find "agents".
