- MichelleCalled me - have been calling as seen on my caller ID when I get home. I was home today and answered. They had a name close to mine but not close enough and then said it was about student loans. I don't have a student loan and have been lucky enough never to have one. I hung up on her.

- JesseThey called and I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. They will be sent to the fax from now on :-)
- Caller: Collections

- AlanThis one really pissed me off. They called me because the person they were looking for had the same last name as I did. What ignorance. They said I owed student loan debt while I'm still in college. Epic fail.

It is ILLEGAL for these [***] to call your cellphone. If they do, find a way to record it, take down a log of the number and frequency of the calls made to your phone and take it to a lawyer and sue them. You are PAYING for them to call your cell, and thats not lawful.
DONT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFORMATION AT ALL, NOT YOUR NAME PHONE NUMBER LOCATION NOTHING.
It seems to be connected to student loans/repayment.- Caller: blocked
- irritatedThey called and left no message. Seriously doubt this is the Dept. of Education like some people have been told. The DOE communicates by mail. And I don't have student loans due anyway. I imagine it is a phishing scam, either to get people to send them money that innocent people will assume is going towards their debts (lots of people have bad debts right now so they're bound to find people that need to set up payments) or to get information on others like neighbors or relatives. ALWAYS get something in writing before giving info or sending money.

- shanthis number calls me EVERY DAY from the hours of 10am-8p. Have the ever told anybody else that they have an important message on their social security number?? Im pretty sure its for my student loan but i don't know
- Caller: operations dept
- Jennifer ZThey call ALL the time. I say "hello" and there is no one there, then suddenly they hang up. I'm tired of this!
- Caller: Operations Div
- JeniferI received a call from this number and I don't know how they got my phone because it isn't in my name and my family are the only ones who have it. The woman kept demanding that I had to listen to her and I said no I don't, and hung up.
- Steve FCaller ID listed as Operations Div. Didn't recognize number so caller left message. A woman identifying herself as Ebony saying she has been urgently trying to reach me for quite some time and that she has a limited time offer she HAS to talk to me about in person. Left the same callback number as others have reported. This sounds so unbelievably bogus and illegal that I felt compelled to report it here. DO NOT respond to these people!
- Caller: Operations Div.
- ANGELAa woman called my cell and work phone, but had a different dollar amount owed (less) on my student loans demanding more money than what i have been paying on my student loans. she threatened to call my payroll department which had already received a garnishment letter, the woman threatened me with garnishment, when i asked her how are you going to do that when aes has already issued one and threatened to sue the company if they do a second garnishment. going from $200 a month which has always been that way in 5 years they want double. I called AES and was told they turned it over the same day I talked to the guy about my payment which was 12-07-2010. They ask for info, but do not take into consideration that you have dependants only if you owe outstanding hospital bills then they will make different payment arrangements.

- radha824Called my work line. Caller ID says Operations Division and asked to speak to a "Georgia". When I told them there wasn't anyone here with that name, hung up.
- Caller: Operations Division
- SlibbyReceived call, said please hold for important phone call, then they disconnected.

- RitzyI read Clark Howard and he says alot of companies call names similar to the one they actually are and try to scar you into paying a debt that isn't even yours! Ask for a written notice and they usually hang up because they have no proof! Tell them to quit calling you. If harrasment continues you can take legal action against them. Clark Howard is very informative!
When I got the call I couldn't answer my phone and they left no message. Pretty well tells you they are a scam. I'm not going to call back, if they want to talk it's going to be on their dime not mine! Idiots, I'm in agreement with other post, 'Get a REAL job!'- Caller: Operations Div
- fitbecki have received phone calls from this number today and a couple of other times.. i do not have any student loans.. there is a man that is in florence prison for assaulting/kidnapping charges -- at least I am relieved it is not him. i do resent these phone calls.

- MikeJust got a call from this number as I was on this site. Ironic, eh?
I didn't bother picking it up, and when I read the comments here I knew it was a scam. I, nor my wife, have any outstanding student loans, nor would we have anything registered to our landline phone number since we only moved to Texas a year ago and haven't taken out any sort of student loan since we've been down here, so they're probably calling for some fool that had this number previously...I've actually gotten calls from 5 different collection agencies for someone at this number in the past year.- Caller: "Operations Division"

- Kare replies to RIck JamesThese people spend more money trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip, then it would cost them to forgive their piece of sh*t loan shark loans. What kind of person would take a job hounding people to pay money that they do not have. Must be as poor as the rest of us. You would think they would understand since we are all in the same boat!
