- Robert Allen replies to JOEL MORRISWhat was the name of the representative who called you? What email was the rental agreement document sent from? Did you authorize any thing with your timeshare company to go ahead with the rental?
- Robert Allen| 1 replyOver the past month, I have received phone calls from a company who goes by the name Destination Services, LLC. The web site destinationservicesllc.net listed on the BBB for NE California is under construction. The web site destinationservices.com given to me by the caller is for a company that does business as HOTELBEDS.COM out of the country of Spain.
Meinhardtgroup.com leads to an international company that is in the construction and design business for buildings with offices everywhere BUT the USA. They seem to be based in Australia. I received no reply from them when I sent a feedback message from their web site and the email address listed in their privacy policy screen failed.
I expect to report the people masquerading as Destination Services, LLC in Sacramento to the Federal Do Not Call list.- Caller: "Destitnation Services"

- Dina Lesley| 1 replyI received a call from Destination Services, also called Global Destination Services. The sales person is Tanya Edwards Rivera. She said they are located at 411 Lincoln Highway, Sacramento. She said that they would rent out my timeshare to the Meinhardt Engineering Group for a Convention in Mexico and all I need to do is pay them for the reservation fee of $199 per reservation. They take your credit card number and charge it to different companies--Divas and Beyond, Catered World Wide Web, Gater Web Hosting -- and others, saying its a way to avoid international exchange fees. They say that Premier Exchange, another company located in New York and in Orange California, will be reserving the actual timeshare once they get the reservation fees. They say they are booking for a convention for the Meinhardt Engineering group at the Hyatt Regency in Cancun, Mexico. They will pay $3600 per week plus $750 maintenance fee. THEY ARE VERY CONVINCING AND PERSISTENT. They call daily to give you updates--with invoice numbers etc. They e-mail a verification agreement in microsoft word and say a formal contract will come in the mail with the check to you at which point they ask that you sign and return the contract. BEWARE, they are pretty convincing. I have disputed all the charges and changed my credit card number.

- PatWe received a call from a representative for Destination Service, LLC on Aug. 17, 2012. The lady was very convincing about wanting to rent our unused timeshare points for a convention that is supposed to be taking place in Cancun. The rooms needed are for an engineering group call Meinhardt Group. The accomodations are to be at the Marriot Hotel. The representative quoted that they would pay $3,600 p/week plus reimbursment of $750 for maintenance fees. We questioned her on the telephone about the possibilty of this being a scam and she offered to let me speak with her supervisor. Even after I continued to question her about this seeming "too good to be true" she emailed us with the same offer in print. It contained links to several web sights for our reference and a copy of the rental agreement. The same lady called us at least 3 more times that day wanting to know if we had reviewed the information and was ready to respond. Very persistant. We are so glad we did a little research and found the complaints above. Thank all of you for your comments and warnings - you saved us from a SCAM.

- Steve SmithI am helping an acquaintance with managing her timeshare. Her late husband had advertised their timeshare for rent. She got a call from a company and asked me to call them back. She gave me the number so I called it but is was invalid. I told her to have them call me direct next time they called. I received a call late last night from a (303) 912-8368 number (changed number recording when I attempted to redial it). The call was the same exact detail as what Pat above got but from an Isabella Chase at Global Destination Service she gave me this 530 number to call back. They are convincing but I told them I needed to confer with the owner and call me in the morning. She put a manager on the line to supposedly take care of exchanging the timeshare for me for a mere $199 fee. So far they have not and I don't expect them to either. I kind of hope they do so I can give them a piece of my mind.

- MabbottI just got a call from them but I told them if they wanted to rent my timeshare to go to redweek.com because I have a post there, which I do. I asked for a name and they gave me a supervisor's name of Mary Jensen. Then they hung up. I think I threw her off when I had a come back.
- Jerry| 1 replyRicky (female) called me from Global Destinations today to rent my timeshare for $3,500 per week plus $750. They would charge the exchange fee of $199 but it wouldn't be final and I could change my mind until I receive the check between Nov 28 and Dec 3. I told them it didn't make sense to have to wait that long if they already had it rented out. The then said they had 137 units already rented and only needed 140 to close it out. I told them I could rent out 3 weeks to close it out and she was happy and said I could get my check in a week because now all rentals were completed. It made no sense at all and I continued to question her. I told her I would be happy to rent it out for $1,000 or $2,000 if I didn't have to pay the $199. She said it was a big company and they could afford the $3,500. I told her it didn't make sense and that no one would pay that much money to rent for one week and if your buying 140 units for the same week I'm sure she could call RCI and get a better deal rather than pay me such a large fee. She then hung up on me.

- Clair replies to JerryJust received the same phone call from Sonia Edwards 530-217-6051 Global Destination Services in California. Basically gave me same info about Meinhardt Engineering planning a convention in Cancun at the Hyatt Regency and would like to reserve a 2-bedroom for $3600 plus $750 maintenance fee. It is truly unbelievable how many scam artists are out there. We were scammed last year by Timeshares by Owner for $1200. Mindy Jonson was her name, assured us that our condo would be rented in November. Well, nothing happened from that, and then she was never available to answer calls. Life's lessons are sometimes very costly!
- clairher name was tonia (sonia ?) edwards with global destination services in california. their guest, meinhardt engineering was planning a convention in cancun in january 2013 and they would like to rent a 2-bedroom for $3600 plus maintenance fee of $750 etc etc she was to follow up with an email, but I never received one. then I began looking on the internet for this company and found this website. thank you so much for posting this. i was given the same number 530-21-6051, which i called and was placed on hold, then disconnected

- JShe called my parents - Rickie - same story as I am reading above. Going to give her $4,000 for timeshare points. My mother took the phone number and gave to me. I have now called 2 times and after 8 min (approx) after being on hold and listening to music and the every now and then "your call is very important to us please stay on the line and you will be connected to the next ...." it disconnected me.
- Caller: 530-217-6051
- C. Vrshek replies to Robert AllenI got the EXACT same thing in Sept which I agreed to. I got a phone number to call back, which I did asking where my check was. They either put you on hold or tell you someone will call you back. Now when I call they don't even answer - you listen to music and a recording your call is very important to us and after 15 min they say good bye - you get disconnected without ever speaking to anyone. They wanted even more out of me and I said NO not until I see this first check which never came. I did get someone tell me they were sending out the checks next week and that was a month ago. they call back and use different names but the voices all sound like the same person - Charrie Hilton, Tonya Edwards, and a sonya all women but a man was answering the phone saying he'll have someone call back. I was told that a Katherine Young was mailing the checks - and they all had accents like they were either Phillipine or from southeast asia. Looks like their web site has changed as well. so they take advantage of us North Americans making promises for our timeshares and then we never get any thing in return. Lying deceitful foreigners.

- EllyBQJust finished a phone call with "Sammy Garcia" at Advance Services. Wanted to buy/rent timeshare week for Meinhardt Engineering Group convention in Cancun. Had an accent and a looooooooong pitch. I got lost in all the details - or maybe it was because I was researching the company on the computer while I was "listening". Told her to email me the info. Then I googled Meinhardt engineering group and found this web site. So glad I did. Number she was using was 760-269-4025. She is supposed to call back this afternoon. Guess what I'm going to tell her - IF I even answer the phone.

- Charlene HernandezI've been dealing with this woman by the name of Tanya Edwards Rivera, She was very nice to me, but we have been going back and forth since Oct 2013. She asked me if I would like to rent out my GETAWAYS that I never used, this was for a company by the name of Meinhardt Engineering for a CONVENTION in CANCUN at the HYATT REGENCY, We went through everything that I would have to do; by okaying the use and putting these charges on my credit card. I was one who fell for it and lost almost $40,000. I questioned her several times why things aren't moving along the way she said they would; there was always an excuse about getting the confirmation from the Premier Exchange and then later was told that Meinhardt had to okay everything and sign the checks that were to be sent out soon; that was a month ago and she said she would be in touch with me by the 1st of June, I'm still hoping.

- Carol DownsThe number I got to call them back was 760-269-4025. The name on my caller id said conference call. Same deal as the aboves to rent my timeshare for their convention in Cancun at a Hyatt or Marriott on March 9 to 15. I needed to send them my confirmation number. I asked (stupidly ) is this a scam? Huffily she said why would you ask me that? But that answer made me very uneasy. I talked to RCI and told them my whole conversation and one person at RCI said do more research. Be careful. My daughter found this website. I am convinced this is a scam. I hope someone catches these thieves and reports them. Scumbags. She called me Jan. 21, 2015
- DLSame scenario but instead of a 530 area code number, it was 713-955-0142 and a woman named Alexis who worked for Advance Services. The "exchange" company who wanted the $199 exchange fee was Crown Exchange LLC. DO NOT FALL FOR THESE PLEASE.
