just would like to know are they collecting money for NCFP (North Carolina fraternal of police)?

Just received the same call from the North Carolina fraternal of police.  Didn't appreciate the guilt trip and confirming my current address.  In this day and age, it is difficult to trust these callers.  I have no idea if they are a true organization.  Does anyone have information???

The Fraternal Order of Police were always calling my Mother here in Pa. They call all over the United States for contributions. My Mother is sickly and I answered her phone and they were on the line. And I told them under no uncertain terms that if they called her again they would here from my Attorney.

My caller ID indicated South Lake Tahoe,  CA. They were calling about a type of make a wish foundation. Something told me not to trust it, so I said I contributed to many local foundations. Surprisingly, she said ok, and hung up!

I got a call from the same number calling themselves the FireFighter's Association. This is surely a scam

I had a call from this number asking for a donation to the Make A Wish Foundation. I said I didn't have time and they called three more times. I seldom send money to phone solicitors. My number is also on the Do Not Call List. I had another call from 626-513-0960 from the Sacramento, CA area with the same request.

I'm not aware if it's a scam, I have donated to Fraternal order of police in the past, and firefighter's causes. They keep coming back. If you are on a DO NOT CALL LIST, resubmit your info because appraently you've bought something new or donated to someone after being placed on the list. Well, that's how I hear it works. Anything new calls for a resubmission of your info to DO NOT CALL.  They're CONSTANTLY calling me because I have donated.. Yes, Sunday nights included (late, as in around 9pm my time, dinner time which is not acceptable). I've recently contacted my phone company and had call blocking put on. This is a great tool folks! I've stopped 2 from calling. I also included anonymous call rejection so my line is uber quiet except for these guys now.. I'm not on a do not call list since about 10 years ago. Good luck to you.. Charities that call asking for donations, even the best of them typically keep 50-70% of every donation.  The ones that use "police" in the name are even worse.  They usually keep about 95% of every donation.  And any time you donate based on a call from a telemarketer you are putting yourself on a donors list, guaranteeing you'll get more calls.  

Charities are exempt from the Do Not Call List law.

Thanks "not Michael"... That's good information. I do appreciate it, I'm getting repeat calls from all of them and did not know they are exempt from the DNC list. I may resort back to blocking them. I've blocked a few!

Hey people, report these SCAMMERS. I just got a call from them at 8:30 this morning. I reported them to the Don Not Call site a few years back too. They ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE FIRE DEPT, they just want money.
I also had a conversation with someone at the State of CA who was investigating them and told me they were indeed scammers.

This number comes up on my caller ID as LOCAL CALL. Can't be, my area code is 304.  How stupid do these people think we are?  There was a call while I was out, and on the answering machine it was as noisy as the NY stock exchange!  Person was talking to someone else and said " I just realized that" What, that I'm on the do not call list?  At least they spoke English.

I get these calls a lot. I just have the answering machine do its thing but it's still damn annoying. I 'd better get on the do not call list again.
