I've receive 24 calls from this number in the past 30 hours. I never tried calling back, but I just Googled and stumbled across these forums instead.

I successfully got a hold of a representative once, and I denied that I was available at my phone number. I was then asked if I was a smoker, and I responded 'no.' This helped delay the next call by about four hours.

I recall clicking through an ad for an electronic cigarette product on the New York Times website a few weeks back, and looking at the sample, but the funny thing is, I didn't like the terms and conditions, so I never hit 'submit.' I'm trying to remember if I ever plugged in my contact information - which would be really messed up, if they logged my data before I even hit the 'submit' button.

This is absolutely the most ridiculous inconvenience ever and I think a lawsuit is in order. This is outright, unsolicited harassment.

I received calls from a company called the Smart Smoker.  Told them I was not interested and then started getting calls from the 540-572-4104 number.  These calls come at a volume of 1 every half hour to hour and have totalled about 25 in the last three days.

THIS HARASSING COMPANY IS THEIR CUSTOMER!! YOU MUST BUG LEVEL 3!!! Their customer is breaking the law! I have given you the number for their security dept. I'll give it to you again. CALL THEM RIGHT NOW AND COMPLAIN! They can stop this and they haven't!!! If enough of us call them, maybe they'll get the message!
Here is the # to call: 800-348-5457 - when you get the recording PRESS OPTION 2 to get to the right person! tell them their customer is harassing you and you want it STOPPED! CALL THEM NOW! If we don't get angry and stand up for ourselves, this will not stop. I am still amazed that any of you actually got a "live" person on the line at getsmartsmoker! I have NEVER gotten anyone to answer when these calls come in. NOT ONCE! It doesn't matter. Call the 800# I just gave you and COMPLAIN! GET ANGRY!

we ALL answered a pop up ad on Google for a free sample kit. I made the mistake of putting my cell # on the form because I actually WAS interested. Then, the next page asked for a credit card# and at that point I bailed out and closed the ad out. But they already had my (and yours) contact info. This is what we ALL have in common. Why are they doing this? I cannot come up with an explanation. This company has a BAD reputation so they must all be crazy. But, they ARE committing a crime using a telephone device. They CAN be prosecuted for this. But it's up to us to make it happen. CALL THEIR PHONE COMPANY! I gave the # to call in other posts.

smartsmoker is the company and getsmartsmoker.com is the website, as far as I know.     I was able to stop calls once I finally got through to someone.

The calls stopped once I got smartsmoker's call center on the line and asked if they could have a manager call me back so I can discuss what's going on.  They said all the managers were in a meeting, but they would have someone call me back and I also asked them to make sure I don't get another phone call.    The trick is to stay level headed with them when you're talking.


In regards to Level 3, please call them and ask for Mary.  She is who I dealt with.   She was incredibly nice and reassuring.  She said she needs multiple complaints to be able to deal with it.

16 calls in 2 days. Total nightmare! Every time I answer, they hang up. Called the 1800 number as suggested, on hold forever then it hung up. Called the 540 area code 10 times in a row and got the "all operators are busy" message. Finally someone called and was actually on the phone. I told them to add me to their DNC list immediately. I was yelling. I think I scared her.

Hopefully the calls stop.

I just got this call and same asd everyone else, just hang up on me... I googled the number and saw all these complaints... The Number indeed belongs to an e cig company, or a "reseller" of these e cigs,, I know you are skeptical, but have you ever heard of computer glitches??? These companies have automatic dialers, and if the list is short enough, the program just keeps calling the same 60-100 numbers over and over with no messege.. Apparently whatever Idiot who is using this program, does not have a clue how to use it or set it up, But after the FCC gets done with him, he will have plenty of time to think about it!!!!!

You seem pretty damn paranoid...there are plenty of stupid ass people out there trying to sell this or that,, these e cig companies, will outsource there calling lists to telemarketers in other countries..just because its a Virginia Number means absolutely nothing.. they could be calling from freaking Bombay India for anyone really knows...So stop being so damn paranoid thinking someone is "targeting" us for harassment.....its just a computer calling program, and whoever is in control of it, apparently has no clue of what there doing... More than likely its someone who signed up to be a reseller for these new E cigs, I too looked at a site for them as well as I really need to quit smoking, and thought it might be a pretty good way to try.. Anyways, do not hit the 2 button, that apparently makes it worse from what I have read, as annoying as it is, just let your answering machine pick it up, or just pick up and hang up... I've only gotten 1 call so far, but an guessing I will be gettin alot more... I have a magic jack numer, any of you have the same?? just trying to think of things in common, other than the e cig company...?????

I am receiving calls from this number several times a day. I have called T mobile to have them stopped but they can't help..You have to go to the web to get any info on who is calling you number.
There is a recording  to press 1 for customer service but no one answers and when you press 2, as it instructs, to have the calls stop nothing happens.........the calls continue almost hourly. I have sent text messages but that dosen't work either.I hope the Federal Trade Commission shuts the idiots down fast!!!!!!

I contacted US Cellular and they said they are not the CARRIER.  If anyone has any luck in reporting them, please let me know.  They have called my home 50 times in 2 days ....

I am handicapped and very upset.

They are calling our number almost every 15 minutes now.  AT&T is investigating now.

same details..calling every 20 minutes between 8am and 9pm. Sprint cell service says they can't block the number.  Always hangs up before I pick up, but when I dial back the caller ID "Virginia", the male voice says "Customer Service" and dial one to talk to someone and "two" be put on their DO NOT CALL list.  I dialed one and after a few moments, was told call volume high and that I could dial "two" to be put on DO NOT CALL LIST.  I haven't tried dialing the "two" according to others on this forum, it doesn't appear to work.

amen. im getting a call every minute. I have hundreds of calls. ive never spoken to anyone there, but i did do a deal for a smokeless cig company

I am getting 10 to 20 calls a day from this number

about 2 weeks ago I got someone on the phone when they called, I told him please stop calling this number and hung up.
Now I have not had a call in 2 weeks,Im so happy, Im not getting calls anymore I think Ill go out and have a SMOKE!!!!
My next step WAS to fill out another app. and put down my home phone as 540-572-4104 ( Ive been told this is a bad idea ) well 10 calls a day sucks too.
