    Well this company did not give me there info neither did I do I hung up and they called back and said that they will see me in court. Being the victim of identity theft, my information that they requested was not given. So therefore they did not tell me why they called. And I want it to stop.

    Informational post:

    http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0258-fake-debt-collectors

    Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

       is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
       refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
       asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
       exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

       Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

       If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
       Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
       Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
       Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
       Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    She left voice msg regarding Court docket. It's a scam. It's a debt collector trying to collect old pay day loan.
    She left message implying I am getting sued and she need my statement. It's illegal what this people are doing.
    I blocked their phone number.
    Do not give them your money. If they keep mentioning lawsuits to scare you, then ask for their information,and tell them you need to talk to your lawyer. Then they hang up on you.

    Yeah, they called everybody except for me. I received three calls from three people I know regarding this fraudulent practice. When I hit them with, this has already been handled, they were upset and claimed that I did not want to take care of this issue. Spitting some talk about handling this without going to court. The first lady, a Ms. Braxton (which I assume is a fake name for these criminal scoundrels), stated that she was glad I called because she did not want to have to send local authorities out. I stopped her there and asked why local authorities would need to be involved (of course, no response to that question). I then asked what company she was calling on behalf. She went around the question to tell me something like attempted to defraud. I raised my voice at her and again asked what company she was talking about. She provided the name and I stopped here there again and told her that she was incorrect with her information. I did not admit to owing anything because I do not owe anything. I told her it was handled and I have documentation to prove it. She took the defense and told me to be professional. I told her that I did not have to be professional because her company (or criminal racket), contacted third parties and gave them information that was not for them instead of contacting me (which a legitimate place would do, I suppose). Long story short, she stated that she was sending me to the scheduler for court hearings (makes no sense) and wouldn't let me finish speaking with her. I was then sent to another lady who did not identify herself. She was "allegedly" scheduling a court hearing (NOT!)!!! I had words with her too. I would say I did handle myself professionally because I did not curse. I told her the same thing I told "Ms. Braxton." I asked why they would call other people but not the person the information was intended for. They said they wouldn't take my documents and that I could bring them to court (Um, noooo!)! She said they were some mediation company working to keep this case from going to court. If that were true, then wouldn't you take my proof of this no longer legitimate debt being paid off from well over four years ago? You would think they would. She told me that since I did not want to take care of the issue, it would have to go to court. So when she kept talking about court, I asked her if they were trying to take me to court why I had not been personally served and why they called everybody but me. She said they were working on taking me to court. OKAY!! I never said I didn't want to take care of it. I told her it was already taken care of and I would gladly send her proof. I then said, if you are a mediation company, then wouldn't you want to take my information and then present it to the alleged creditor you are so happily seeking payment for? I then asked her if the only way to take care of it was to pay for something that has already been paid? She then got upset with me, but she wouldn't answer my questions. Accused me of trying to speak over her, which I was because she wasn't hearing what I said and apparently could not hear how stupid she sounded. She said that I would be going to court. She rudely hung up on me. I then attempted to call this scammer back. Some dude answered the phone and said something that was not audible. I asked for the name of the company. He asked me if I had a case number with them. I again asked for the name of the company. He again stated that he needed a case number. A third time I asked for the name of the company, he rudely hung up on me! These people are the scum of the earth!! If they take me to court, I have all of my documentation! Go ahead, make my day scumbags!!

    So I just got a call from this scam people. This women asked me all kind of questions and told me that I have an out standing loan. I told her that's not true because I handle all my bills and I don't owe any loans. I told her to email me all the information and she said no she will not do that! She started to be  very upset since I did not get scared by her. Again I told her to email me all the information and tell me which company I owe? She could not give me the answer. The she said she will sue me I told her go ahead and talk to my lawyer! She rudely hung up and the funny thing is she never asked me about the lawyers info. So this is defiantly a scam! Could not tell me which company I owe! I'm just worried about identity theft now.

    There name is FAKE!!  ALSTON BURG (OR BIRD) ASSOCIATES IN ROCK HILL, SC.
    I have received several calls from a debt collector or a mediator, calling asking that I did not settle with a company called "Cash Jar" to pay a debt and I said yes I did and the caller kept saying no I didn't and I have documentation that I have  paid.
    The caller names are Mrs. Jones and Ms. Braxton. They told me they will settle out of court 50% of the amount I owed and they had the nerve to ask for my credit card #. I never received anything in the mail and I never received any paperwork sent to me regarding this so call debit that I paid back in 2012.
    I even asked for this information and until this day I have not received no paperwork on this debt?
    The caller(s) told me they will send me to court in my county, garnish my wages and send a sheriff to my job and serve a subpoena!  They even called my Job and that is when I got really upset and told them do not call my job or you will hear from my attorney.
    I did consult with a attorney and the attorney told me that this is a scam and do not pay anything, they are in violation of your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    I have not heard anything else from them to date.
