Call from this number.  When I answered, a recording said was unable to connect your call due to unusually high call volume...

I called this number and reported it to the FCC

The number is from Fresno and handled by Vernon - Paulette Schultz.

They call using a auto dialer three times a day and as late as 10.15 pm.

The call comes from CAVAF (The California Veterans Assistance Foundation)
The main office won't stop them. I bet the FCC will.

Got called at 8:34PM Pacific time. They asked for my husband but had his name wrong so they thought I was him. Why is this not a violation of the Do Not Call listing?

On Apr. 22, at 8:27 p.m., a caller from CAVAF called asking if I was Mrs. So and so, I said yes. She went on to say she was calling about a survey and wanted to ask me a few questions. I had to interrupt her and let her know I was preoccupied with fixing dinner. She said she would call back again. (She was calling from 559 area code, I live in 916 area)

i sow the number on my caller id i never picked up the phone, i don't know any won with this number. if you don't know any won with this number don't pike up the phone, also you can tip in DO NOT CALL LIST in Google and you will get the National Do Not Call Registry (www.donotcall.gov). THIS DOSE WORK. if you rely wont to get series you can do a Reverse Phone Look up to see who wons this number.

I received a call from 559-272-6499 this afternoon (June 11, 2008).  I did not recognize the area code, so I did not pick up the receiver.  I  changed my telephone number several days ago to an unlisted number due to the inordinate number of calls such as this. One would think that the FCC could do something to track the caller down and take appropriate action.

I received a call from 599-272-6499 on June 30, 2008 at 9pm.  The caller would not leave a message and not identify himself.

I have received 3 calls from this number and am on the Do Not Call registry.  I believe I will contact the FCC also about them.

I have received 4 or 5 calls from this number over the past couple of months always late in the evening.  Since I didn't recognize the number I didn't pick up.  There is never a message left.  Tonight I picked up the call, no one there except background noise like a call center.

This organization calls at least once a day, never leaves a message, and hangs up when I answer the phone. My number is on the do-not-call list. I have reported this group to the FCC.

Got a call around 9:00 PM today. I said I am not interested and a rude reply came back asking me if I would be interested if I won a million dollars. I said I am busy and hung up.

I am on the Do Not Call Registry, so this is clearly a violation- especially since I've asked them repeatedly to stop calling. They are asking for my father, who died two years ago, and despite of me telling them that they keep calling and calling...

I ,also ,have received a single call from this number (id CAVAF) This man was soliciting donations for disabled veterans.  I explained that I am a Veterans Advocate , which I am, and asked for more information so I can check this org. out.  He gave me this" Debbie Johnson; President, and  phone number: 1 800 710 4149,  and a web address of www. CAVAF.org.  I will be handing this over to my local organizations for further follow up.

If I don't initiate contact with you, don't call me. If I wanted to talk to you, I would've called you.

For what it's worth, I contacted the organization through the website (http://www.cavaf.org/contact_us.html) and the calls did stop eventually. Or maybe they just got tired of calling :).
