These people have been calling every day. Autodialer SCAM. I reported this to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office. You should do the same.

I don't have any bad checks.

Something about a bad check returned by my bank

SCAM .. they have a full mailbox so when you do press 1 to speak with someone, you get a message stating the mailbox is full and it hangs up. I guarantee if it were legit, there wouldn't be a full mailbox!!!

Something about an item that have been returned by my back and please call back or the matter is going to be taken care of legally. They call back every other day with different numbers.. It shows up in my caller id ans unassigend with different numbers

Machine answers when I pick up stating that an item was sent back from my bank.  Since I don't have checking I know it is a scam.

I've been receiving several calls a day on my cell phone lately from the 559-634-9112 area; also other numbers with the same area code. They're saying it's about a check returned from the bank, and If I don't respond within 24 hrs, they'll turn it over to collections; what ticks me off, is this counts for my minutes on my cell phone, I have them on block but they still leave the dang frickin message!! my daughter said someone she knows fell for this scam on a $13.00 check about 10 years ago and they said she now owed over $300 in fees etc. what a joke....

I am getting 5 or 6 calls everyday they are calling about a check for $32.00 for pizza they say was returned in 1997. Never had a bad check and never had checking account at that bank. That is 19yrs ago......its a scam ....

Just called and said that an item has been returned from my bank and that if matters isn't taken care of within 48 hours that wage garnishment will be taken care of legally

Can not hear the message but something about a debt.  or something.  I do not owe any debt.  I use Extreme call blocker.  Ends the call really fast.  Forget Do-Not-Call list or the Sheriff.  they would not bother with these calls.
The other way is to have your phone company block the call but that gets evolved because the number changes.

They have been calling me daily for a while, when I blocked the number they started calling me from a different number. I finally talked with them and they told me that I had a returned check from 14 years ago and I needed to pay them right away to avoid court and wage garnishment. When I started asking question they got extremely mad and told me they would see me in court and ended the call. I called the court house and they have no records of anything being filed against me. This is definitely a scam.

I just started getting the same type of calls, but the last 4 digits are 9104.  I used to be getting the calls from a 205 area code, but blocked them after the first time they called me.  First time they called they told me a check of mine for $13 was returned in 2003 from a bank that is now closed.  I told them they were crazy,  I never received any notice of any problem check or I would have addressed it.  The grocery store they claim it is from has never contacted me about any problem, and I go there practically every day.  I have refinanced my home twice for lower interest rates since 2003, and it has never shown up as a problem.  Because the bank is now closed I have no way of checking with them to see if there ever or still is any problem.  Now they are calling me telling me I have another returned check for $278 - again, the grocery store doesn't now, or has ever had a problem taking my check.  I would think if there was any validity to this they would have sent me something in the mail in writing since they obviously have my address if they have a copy of this supposed returned check.  Think this is a scam.

I too have been getting calls from this number and they say I have a check from twenty years ago..... Really???? Is there a statute??? SMH
