This number just called. Boca Raton, FL. We have been getting a lot of random calls like this in the last day or so after a good few months of NONE. I wonder who gave our number away again....anyway....I have taken to answering these calls but saying nothing. Often, the computer (or whatever) will wait for someone to pick up and if there is no answer, hang up and register it as a dead number. But this time a recorded message started up immediately. A jolly woman's voice said something along the lines of: "Hello! This is an important call for..." (Man's computer voice) "John Mil--(unintelligible)" Woman's voice: "..about an important matter relating to business. Please press 1 for more details." At this point I just waited and within 10 seconds it hung up on me. There sure as hell isn't anyone at this number with a name remotely like "John Mil-blah blah".
I am not sure who or what scam it is THIS time, but it is surely dodgy.
And sorry that it this post is of no help identifying, but I always think it good to have a record available of these calls for people to compare experiences.
We got SO many calls like this for a while and I complained to FTC, Attorney General, Do Not Call, local cops...ANYONE who might listen...and the calls DID stop for months, but then today alone I have had 4 calls from 4 different numbers. What the hell is going on??

Received call from this number asking for someone for debt collections.  They have called many times from different numbers.  I was told the company was GMA out of Orlando 10524 Moss Park Rd 253 Orlando Fl.  The address is registered to Gellman, Ross, and Associates.  Their corporation has been closed with Florida corporations.  I believe this is a scam company.  They say their number is 866 259 5351.  STRONGLY  suggest you don't provide them any info.

Called but left no message.

YeS!!  they keep calling me too. Looked up the number it says it's a landline in Boca RAton, FL but when i called the number it says "Thank you for calling GMA" so i hung up!! Yup, i think it's a scam too. DONT GIVE ANY INFO!!

Next time ask them for their license number in the state of FLorida they must be licensed by the dept of agriculture.  10,000.00 per occurrence.

I just received a call from the same number.  He said they were a partner company of an insurance company called Combined. (Much like Aflac with the supplemental policies).  I told him to Eff off then called Combined and screamed at them for a good 15 minutes.  So if you have Combined Insurance, they are the ones that gave your personal contact information out.

Just received a call from this number five minutes ago and I did not answer it but I do plan to block it. Thank you for the heads up Laura!

Some sort of automatic device starts ranting about something incomprehensible. I put the receiver down as soon as I realized what it was but it's happening way too often from this number.

Why bother putting the receiver down instead of just hanging up? And why don't you block the number so it isn't "happening way too often"?
