Almost forgot, below are the notes we took on the initial phone call.
They are sending us a bunch of papers by Fed Ex. Will post them on the internet and include link when we receive them.

Our CEo got a call from Eric (Something) about a production for "Heroes of Hope" which he told her to view at heroeofhope.com. It is a program of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation which I'm not sure the CFF evens knows about.

He gave the number and the whole time sounded very flustered and there were huge breaks in his message. My CEO forwarded it to me to do some research and I am glad I found this forum.

He did not give his company name but just stated he was a producer for the "Heroes for Hope" presentation and wanted to ask her a few questions.

Got a call from Kate Larson this morning ... indicated she is Executive Assistane to Mr. Alex Barry ... they wanted to discuss opportunity to feature our business in a Waste Handling industry show coming soon.

Fortunately, I could not participate as we have customers in house today ... I asked for call back number.  Out of curiousity, I Googled the number and wound up here.

Thanks to everyone for revealing this scam.

The latest approach is from a list of "Museums". Same Hogh Downs name-dropping, etc. They mention a television series call "Great Museums", which has very nice website, but I am quite sure the Great Museums people never heard of thiese folks. I am contacting them also.

Thank you for contacting us.  We are the producers of Great Museums for public television (www.greatmuseums.org) and we assure you that we are not associated with this group.

    Chesney,

    Your site says:

"GREAT MUSEUMS is an on-going award-winning series of weekly, half-hour programs celebrating America’s museum world. With touches of history, art, and travel for virtually any demographic, GREAT MUSEUMS airs coast to coast on public television stations representing more than 80% of US households...."

Is your show guaranteed on PBS or APT?  or do the individual stations determine thier own schedule and you just create the programs and distribute to them?

The Fred Thompson and Inside Business thing has nothing to do with VT Media.  That is a WHOLE other show.  VT Media has Hugh Downs not Fred Thompson.  Would anyone "want" Fred Thompson?

I saw this on thier VT site -

"3. Does our programming or production studio have any affiliation with programs produced by PBS, or other independent organizations?

There is a typical misunderstanding that PBS and Public Television are one and the same. PBS and Public Television are not one and the same and our series is not associated with PBS. The producers and studio are not associated with, distribute programming for, review underwriting for or otherwise have any business relationship with PBS (or any other entity program provider such as APT or NETA)."

It looks like they are not affiliated with PBS or even claim to be affiliated with them in any way, or any of those other stations.

Just wanted to update further things.
Mr. Grober contacted my wife after we published the above information and was upset, telling her that what we published was untrue.
What I published was links to other information about National Medical Reports and text from PBS.
A link to the documents that they sent to us by Federal Express is here:
    http://www.scribd.com/doc/15001192/National-Medical-Report

It does appear that they produce videos. If you do a search on YouTube, there are several links to videos that they have produced. The problem is that the "most viewed" video has only 9000 views at this point. Many of the videos have less than 100 views. Draw your own conclusions about whether the marketing exposure is worth the money that they are asking. We discussed this with a video journalist and he laughed and made an unpublishable statement when we told him that they wanted us to pay more than $25,000 to create a clip like this.

I received a call from Kate Larson to call back 561-826-0770 x153. The guy called and forwarded information on http://nationalmedicalreport.tv/videopages/HughDowns.htm

I tried to get information but all he kept saying that we are public TV and that I was skeptical, etc etc. He kept using baby boomers show that is found on the website. If you look at the video, HughDowns only shows up at the begining and end and it looks like an edit to put him there.

The website was hosted by Website Maven - i.e. anyone who hire Website Maven can publish the same content: http://www.websitemaven.com/

Hello Everyone....First this is an awesome message board!  Things like this can help save people getting taken advantage of!!!

I run a non profit organization...we received a call from someone named Linda  Gibbs...She claimed to be a "TV Producer". She wanted me to pay $22,000 to for my company to be featured on a show titled "Business Trends: A new error under Obama".  When I asked her for references she started dropping some big names but she made a mistake when she mentioned one name in particular, Eric Clapton. When I told her that I knew Eric personally Linda "back peddled" and rushed the call to an end.

Based on this website and my conversation with Lind Gibbs, Business Trends seems like a scam....Good luck

    Tennessee Curiosity,
Our programs are distributed by American Public Television (APT) and the high definition versions air via PBS.  You can email me directly through our website.   Also, Great Museums in a registered trademark, so that should be Great Museums ® TV.

I work for a non-profit literacy Foundation and received a message this morning from someone named Chance calling for television producer Leon Grober. I was invited to return the call as they would like to feature my organization in a program hosted by Hugh Downs called "Creating a Better Future". He said the program was an educational series for public television on CNBC. So glad I googled "Leon Grober" and found this web site!
